what does notes like 8p and 7h mean.

ah, are you reading tabs? "p" means pull, which means with the finger you use to hold the 8th fret you pull downwards or upwards on in order to raise the note. this video will sort of explain, ignore the metal thing he uses and note what he does around the 33-36 second mark, that's what a pull is:

"h" means to hold the note, say the 7th fret, and the note afterwords (which should be on the same string) you don't pluck, but quickly press down on the fret in order to create the sound. i hope that makes sense, if you want me to make a video explaining that one i could do that for ya.

The difference between this tab and the first tab is that in this tab, multiple strings are hit at the same time, so this indicates strumming. At first you hold down and A and D string and 2nd fret and G string at 1st fret and play all 6 strings. If you know chords, then you would notice that this is E-major chord. According to the tab, E-major chord is strummed twice. The next chord is A-major which is strummed once and then D-major is strummed twice.
The x indicates that that string is not played. Meaning you don't hit that string with your strumming hand. It could also indicate a dead note. This means that you play that string with your strumming hand but it doesn't make a sound becuase you muted that string with your other hand. Holding a string lightly (rather than pressing it firmly down at the fret board) and hitting it creates a dead note. Wheather or not a string in not played or a dead note can be confusing as they are both represented by x. Listining to the song will often give you a clue. For a beginner, assume that the x indicates that the string is not played

if you don't understand that, and you've had lessons for 2 years, get a new teacher.

i could play james bond LOL, and around 50 christmas tunes, he made his own turd ones to for us to play. explain that thing though D: i don't have a clue LOL

instead of plucking a string at a time, you use one motion to hit multiple and sometimes all of the strings, usually repetitively at a tempo. there's a million and a half different chords, this is just one of them.

i find it hard to put 2 fingers in the same line of fret, and if it hits the bar the sound is just darn nasty. Is their different size guitars for different ages? cause i might still have a small one from when i was 12.

you have to get used to barring, a lot of chords require one finger that stretches down all the strings of the same fret. there are different sized guitars but if anything a smaller guitar is easier to play. are you playing acoustic or electric?

acoustic atm, i play electric to but the strings snapped and i don't have a replacement yet.
