Okay, so I need some cash in PayPal ASAP and I can't be bothered to wait days for the money from my bank account to transfer into my PayPal account, so if I were to purchase something for like, £25 and my PayPal account had £2 in it, would PayPal still pay £25 out of my credit card that I use to add funds to my PayPal account, or will my PayPal account reject the purchase/get me in the red?

It should work. I have my credit card atatched to paypal and they just deduct it straight away!

So you've bought items before that you don't have PayPal money to buy them with?

Yes. And if I have money it takes the 5 dollars from paypal and the rest from the bank

Cool. When you say your card is attached to your PayPal, do you mean you've attached it by just adding a bank account? Or by adding a card?

I think I did a card.

Yes and it will also take the £2 out so only £23 will come out you bank account.

Yeh it does it automatically. In a few days you should see your card charged.

Thanks everyone. I added a bank account to my PayPal when I first started, but I haven't added a debit card, so will my payment to the seller still come out of my bank account I added when I first created my account?

I don't see any reason why not.

My mum never has money in her account, and when I buy things it always works, so I guess it takes from the bank account if not!

Be careful though, if the money isn't in by the time PayPal try and take it you will be charged a direct debit refusal fee. I know Lloyds TSB and Abbey are £30 dunno about others
