So I've completed GTAIV after getting a 360 only recently and love the game and the online play! I want to buy one of the episodes but really don't want to waste time and money completing and buying both.
So far, the fact that the Ballad of Gay Tony has parachutes has me leaning towards that, though Lost and the Damned has lots of new vehicles?
What, in your opinion, should I go for? Which way is the cheapest and best way of getting it also, Live Points or hard copy? J

To be honest, you're better off buying the 'episodes from Liberty City' CD.
As soon as you've completed which ever one you choose in this thread, you're gonna' be bored and possibly buy the other one. But to just pick one, I'd say the Ballad Of Gay Tony. :D

Ballad if you're only going for one.
Just because I find it more enjoyable thatn TLAD.
But otherwise go for the disk with them both on :)

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll try look into what LOTD comes with.
Also, with the combined hard copy CD, are both stories like, merged into one? So you have the same save on both or something? How does it work? J
You load up and theres the option of LATD or BOGT
BOGT has a more enjoyable/exiting storyline (you'll get your arab money if you know what i mean)

I dunno about prices or what's best to get because my brother downloaded each as they were released on the XBOX Marketplace. Personally I don't think they are good enough to justify getting up and changing the disc lol. The way I have them, I can just switch between each from the main GTA IV game, (unless they can be installed from the disc to allow the same thing).
I didn't spend much time on TLAD but I don't remember any new vehicles. TBOGT however, has a few new vehicles, some new weapons and as you mentioned, parachutes. I disagree with HC0R3H00LIH00P as I hated the storyline and characters on TBOGT. But to save repeating whole posts, I just made a more detailed post about the two games here; http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost.php?p=6270467&postcount=16 :).

TLAD, and TBOGT both have seperate save files from each other aswell as GTA IV. So when you load it up it will have a choice of what game you want to play.

Sweet, sounds like BOGT is the most popular so I guess I'll get the disk and play that first Haha ;P

Unless the disc version is different, it doesn't let you choose on start up, you just have to load the save file from whichever game you want to play.

The Ballad of Gay Tony's better. More... gifts as it were in terms or guns and activities. The Lost and Damned is repetitive and depressing.

How many missions are in both? How long did they take to complete?
LATD's story is great, but it falls to most of the same faults the main game had.
BOGT was what GTA IV should've been, a more compact and intense GTA instead of some 'srs bznis'. They hit the balance right in this.
The new dlc should basically be Gta iv - San andreas vs Liberty city :P

I think TBOGT took me about three days (two or three hours per day maybe) and I'm probably slow. Didn't complete TLAD because it is so repetitive and boring and Harelys are **** getaway vehicles :P.

BOGT has zillions of new cars, police bikes, new police cars, APC, tanks, new helicopters, crazy guns and parachutes.
LATD has a few new bikes.
You choose.

In my opinion, TBOGT is better, however it is very short.
The Lost and Damned is repetitive, and pretty poor graphics TBH.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I've got the combo disk now and have started playing BOGT first, just did the parachute off the 'Rotterdam' tower, great fun/action in this game!

Good choice in getting both, they're both great, although BOGT is definitely the better one. Better storyline, better weapons and vehicles and just a whole lot more fun.
Shame they both only take about 6 hours each though.

You can turn that off, its caled Noise effect in the display section of the start menu.
