Well I still can't make my mind up about my A level choices and I need some adviiice. I have 3 options for sure, it's just my fourth where I don't really know what to do. I'm doing English lit, history and biology but then I don't know whether to do a) Classical Civilisation b)Spanish for AS but not A2.

I want to do a) because I'm just interested in the course, but it's a similar sort of thing to history (except the history course is exceptionally boring). I know the teacher is really good so that kind of swings it for me, plus I would do the whole A2, not just the AS. With b), Spanish, I really enjoy learning a language and I'm predicted an A in my GCSE but I know the AS is about 10 times harder, and then the A2 is about 10 times harder than the AS. I don't think I'd be able to manage the A2. Would it be better to do a more impressive subject, being Spanish, for just an AS or a less respected subject but with a full A level?

helppp.

Most universities expect you to have a minimum of 3 A levels, and normally an AS level. Doing 4 A Levels all the way through to A2 is quite hard, and most people drop a subject as the content is much more challenging. Biology is very content heavy, in both years.

I think spanish would probably be your best option. It shows a good range of abilities, adding a language, and spanish is a great language, wish id had the option to do it at gcse :(

I would say choose classics because it would be an amazing subject, plus you should choose four subjects you would probably want to continue at A2, as if one doesn't go as planned, you may choose to drop that instead of the one you "planned to drop" all along.

I agree with Oli. I'd go for the 4 A-Levels you would plan to continue on to A2 because something may not go to plan. It didn't with me and I ended up with 3 'proper' A-Levels and then an A-Level in General Studies just to fill a gap.. i'd go for Classics and then if one of the others or even Classics gets too much you can drop it and continue with the 3.
