What is this film?!?!!!

Right agesss ago i started watchin this film an alien film, and never watched the ending as i fell asleep :(

i cant remember what the film was called however and im wondering if anyone can help me..

okk so the storyline was about a family of man, woman and boy andd dog
and they get 2 people come to the house with suits on and they are pale with sunglasses, they die and the man rubs one of his faces and the white make up comes off and hes an alien and then loads of aliens come in black 4x4's and kill the dog
thats all i watched of itt

I have no idea. The only film that springs to mind with aliens and sunglasses is They Live with Roddy Piper. He finds a pair of sunglasses that enable him to see aliens hidden in human bodies, but that isn't the film you're on about, sorry. Do you remember any more at all; an actor's name?
