Lost to the Fed in the Aussie open finals just now with a point score of 6-3, 6-4. 7-6 to Fed.

Was intense in that last tiebreak, although he didnt play his best tennis. Murray didn't play his best game with weak serves.

Federer is just a gun. How I'm proud to be Swiss.

and everyone will revert back to 'scottish' now.

It's a shame because I wanted Murray to win but he will have his day. Federer is untouchable at the moment.

Glad he's lost, he's a tool who "doesn't care how England do in the world cup" so I couldn't care less about him, well done Roger.

HAHA SCREW YOU MURRAY. idiot.

Well played Federer :)

I wanted Murray to win, not Federer. But the only person I think who can win Federer with ease is probably Nadal.

CHA!NGANG
31-01-2010, 01:18 PM
Nadal can't beat him with ease anymore. It will take a while for him to get back on form and to comeback from his injuries but when he does get there then yeah Nadal can beat him.

someone said in an earlier post that he couldn't care less if England didn't win the World Cup - or something familiar.

so, yeah?

i can see why. i supported murray but his personality is pretty poor, he's often said stupid things. most famously, "i'm not british, i'm scottish". however, there is no shame in losing to the best ever tennis player. should've done better in the 3rd set and taken his chances.

Tash.
31-01-2010, 01:36 PM
I didn't see the first set but he did try so hard in the 2nd and 3rd, especially in the tie break in the 3rd set. Federer was just too good and there's no pride lost in losing to him at all. I get what people are sayig though, Murray is often hard to like but you just have to stick with him if you're British, not as if we have much choice is it?

Yeah, and that too Ardemax.
Just because I'm british doesn't mean I have like him.

Federer is one of my favourite sport competitors because I love the commitment he puts in and the great sportsmanship he offers.

If you did a bit more research into it then you'd see that it was twisted way out of context and was meant as a joke.

As much as I don't like his personality and I do prefur Nadal, he is British, and I'd rather Murray win than anyone else because of that.

Why are people suggesting that we have to like murray just because he's british?

Personally, i wanted him to win, but not too bothered that he didnt. He's done well to get there and i'm sure he'll have is day.

Not saying that you have to like him at all but for British people to say:

HAHA SCREW YOU MURRAY. idiot.

Well played Federer :)Then I think that's wrong because it's like an English person saying:

HAHA SCREW YOU ENGLAND. idiot.

Well played Spain :)

OK maybe it isn't as bad as that but I think that it is basically the same thing. Fair enough if you prefur Federer and wanted him to win, but I think that you can go a bit too far especially when he is representing your own area.

Saying that I suppose it's upto people what they think of Murray and I can see why English people don't like him but then again if most people actually did a bit of research into him instead of believing gossip, then you'd see how much of the crap about him hating England is made up or taken out of context.

i'm not sure how it's gossip when it was on live television

"i'm not british and i don't want to be called british, i'm scottish"

fair point yeah, but i can assure you a lot of the UK population aren't fans of Murray - like myself, obviously.

And yeah, just because we are British, doesnt mean we have to support him. And he represents Scotland so thats basically the same statement as to what you made - in a way (:

Yeah but that's different from him hating England. The stuff about him wearing a Paraguay shirt isn't true. The thing about him saying he didn't want England to win the World Cup was taken way out of context.

why the hell should someone who's not english support in england in the world cup. he's scottish, when he wins it's "oh, well done BRITAIN" but when someone english wins it's "well done England". one for one and one for another.

Why would he? :S More importantly, how is that relevant? :S:S

Anyway I didn't bother getting up for it because I could hardly imagine Federer losing.

I'm sure any English, Welsh, Scottish person would say that they're their own nationalities before British, whats so bad about that? He's British yes, he just calls himself Scottish over British. I know I'd definitely call myself English over British, but that doesn't change the fact I'm proud to be English and British.

Anyway, he was unlucky, I got up for it and hoped for a lot after the first few games, ashame it didn't materialize. He'll get a slam eventually though.

Agreed. Like whenever an American asks 'are you British?' I say I'm English.

I only say that because of what Scottish people say. I'm fine with Welsh, for now, and Northern Ireland are fine. I just really hate Scottish people. And Scottish people hate Scottish people so I'm in a cocoon of safety.
