The rule which states that you cannot make comments needs to be reworded.

I was warned for the following:

A person made a thread selling a Trophy. The person stated that there were only four of them in the hotel, hence very rare.

I have never seen this trophy and was interested. I asked the person to post a screen shot.

I got a warning for asking the person what the furni looks it. This is just silly. I appreciate that the Moderator was simply following the rules so this is in no way a attack on the Moderator.

The rule simply needs to be changed and made more specific. My comment was there to assist me in deciding if I wanted to make an offer and it would have also helped other users who have not seen the furni in deciding if they wanted to make an offer too.

Unfortunately, the warning was not reversed and I was told its fair. I am unable to understand how it is fair.

Thanks.

Strictly it is against the forum rules as the only thing allowed in the trading forum is offers.

I shall speak to Garion about whether we should alter this rule to allow questions such as yours, then we should be able to sort this out.

I agree hence my request that the rule should be reworded. I think if the question is valid, it should be allowed. However, if you look at the "Trading Rules - Please Read Before Posting!", it doesn't say questions are actually comments. It refers to comments as general comments such as "good offer" etc.

I'm gonna agree with you, I don't see why questions should not be allowed :)

I agree, where a post is asking a genuine question I don't see why it should be punished. Oli and I will discuss an amendment now.

Efficient team we are ;)

Rule amended:

Don't post comments in the trading section unless you are asking a genuine question related to the trade

I've also removed your usernote :)

Just as an additional suggestion; in the case of Trophies like the example here, I used to always see people selling them and pretty much every thread would get comments asking for the description. If you want to minimize the amount of unnecessary comments, then perhaps there should be a rule that states when selling trophies you either provide a screenshot of the plaque or include the relative information about its description and buyer etc.

I think the alteration of the rule discussed above makes it so any potential questions about the trade are no longer comments, I think adding rules like this would be being a bit too controlling, if a user wants to buy a trophy but would first like to see the inscription, it is not against the rules to ask and I don't see a major issue with people asking.

Fair enough. I just got the impression based on the original rule that it was favourable to have as few comments as possible that were not actual offers.

I guess if someone asks for the inscripton and someone eles then asks the same question, they should get an edit as the question has already been asked.

It'd be pointless posting tbh :P
