i wiki'd the earthquake movie, read up to "Earthquake is a 1974 (http://www.habboxforum.com/wiki/1974_in_film)" then went off it.

You shouldn't be so soon to dismiss older films. By doing so you're missing out on a great deal of masterpieces and great movies.
Anyway, check out Deep Impact, Armageddon, Independence Day and War of the Worlds.

Fact is, the older the film the better in most cases. 80 percent of what Hollywood churns out these days is utter, utter ****. There is simply no comparison to the films of yesteryear. Dismissing them is foolish and ignorant.

It's not really ignorant. I can't stand older films.
Disctrict 9 is a decent sci fi film, maybe even star trek, not seen that though ;P

I don't like Star Trek either but the movie is fantastic. Also, you should check out Bladerunner. One of the best sci-fi films ever made. Don't worry, Bladerunner: The Final Cut was released in 2007 and with all the re-enhancements it looks almost brand new. The Fifth Element is another good sci-fi film that is on TV later this week.
