What to do about her?

Ok, So basically there is this girl who is the only person i have ever had the real emotions of love for, not just a slight one but full blown.
So we have known each other for two years, and we get along very well and we seem to be almost made for each other. Only recently she has began to to get confused over her feelings for me. She says her heart is now with another guy, but she says if i came in earlier then it would have worked.
The problem that now stands is that i cannot bear to lose contact with her as she doesn't want to speak to me anymore so i don't get hurt by having this hope for there to be us as a couple. I have said can we just still be friends but it doesn't seem to be working. Do you think that we need to sit down and sort this out for final? Cause tbh noone else has ever resonated with me like she has.

I don't really know if i have explained my real problem well enough, but i can't contemplate myself atm.

Well it seems as you've said she's confused. But maybe you do need to sit down and talk and share your feeling as you quoted her saying "if i came in earlier then it would have worked". This seems to suggest she was waiting for you to make a move and you didn't?
I think you should sit down tell her how you feel before ye drift apart and she gets too involved with the other guy. Hope all works out mate. :)
