So I've finally bought my first car, she's a lovely 2003 '52 plate Renault Clio Dynamique, she's gorgeouusss! Going to pick her up with my dad either Monday or Tuesday, I'm so excited! In the meantime I have a couple of snaps that I took with my phone when we bought it yesterday...

Scrubbed out the numberplate for security reasons. Left the 52 to show what reg it is.
Cost me £2100 and it has a full year's MOT, just been serviced and has 6 months tax and according to the receipts, previous owner spent about £700 quid on various new things like a timing belt and new springs. I'm so lucky to find one this decent for that price as people were charging upwards of £2k for 'Y' plate base models.

Yep I'm all insured on it and it's costing me around £1000 a year. Got added to my mum & dad's multicar insurance policy and had my dad as the main driver of my car and me as a named driver of it, brought the premiums right down. Still a hell of a lot of money though for a small car like that!

Nice car man, but you really cant be only a named driver on your cars insurance unless your dad will be driving it more than you. This is called "Fronting" and is classed as fraud therefore if you have an accident your insurance company wont pay out which means your technically driving un-insured.

Cheers!
Well to be brutally honest I'm not entirely sure how he did it, my dad sorted out all the insurance and then came to me and said "right that's you all insured on it now".
My mate gave me the idea of being just a named driver of my car therefore explaining why his premiums are so low, but I reckon my dad hasn't done that seeing as mine are significantly higher.
I'd no idea it was fraud anyway!
My cousin bought one exactly the same as that, but 51 plate. Cost him £1400 I think, sorry to piss on your fire :P
But yeah it's really nice :)

Haha well some are just luckier than others I guess! Mines is about 2 years newer though! ;)
But cheers anyway haha, I got her today, been out the front sitting in, cleaning the inside :P
it's kind of sad, I can't even drive it myself yet |-)

Ahhh shame! Very nice car aswell, I love all the subtle tweaks you done to it aswell, kinda small things I'd like to do to mine too. Looks like I'll be saving for the lights then! They got a website?
Oh and I also joined that ClioSport forum you have the sticker of in your window :P looking forward to my tax disc holder and keyring!

It's not spectacular, but by putting what year it was I suppose you could acknowledge that the car is in 'good nick' for what year it was made in (2002). :)

It's actually a 2003, just narrowly missed out on being an '03 plate!
I mentioned that it was a '52 as it indicates how old it is/what reg it is. If you said you'd gotten a P plate car then you'd be able to tell that it's a bit older (1996).
Just a common thing to do when you talk about your car :)
