Would be a good idea to tell us:
Which level is it at? SATS? GCSE? A LEVEL? UNI?
And which subject / degree?

What subjects you doing?
I think the teachers advise us in our 6th form to relate it to one of our topics that we find interesting but we know a bit about, so maybe you could do that :)

Well you could discuss what happened in the 'old days' i.e. children spent more time outside and probably exercised more but with the advent of mass media communication there are worries that children spent far too much time in front of the TV or computer what what effects that has on them. E.g Children are getting so much younger using them and have game consoles TVs and computers in their rooms etc. Also constant use of mobile phones.
Do they neglect their work?
Do they get enough sleep?
Are they subjected to content that is not suitable for them and how can they be protected from it?
Is txt spk good?
etc etc.
You would have to do some research but I think the theory has pretty much
come down on the side of the children in that the benefits outweigh the negatives.
e.g.
Better hand to eye co-ordination particuarly with gaming.
A bigger social circle and increase in literacy and keyboard skills.
A allround bigger knowledge with access to the worldwide web
Children able to research diet and nutrition for themselves.
Even shy children don't mind interacting via the web.
Downside could be a lack of face-to- face communication
Lack of exercise and children really don't need to leave the house these days.
Just a few ideas that can be built upon.
