Got an HP dv6.

Lead isn't charging it anymore. I wiggled it and it worked for a bit, and now
it's stopped completely. I NEED my laptop DAILY for coursework, need a qucik fix or a cheap power lead with next day delivery. I've got no other PC I can use, only my iPod, and I can't send it to PC world because I NEED the thing badly!

£15 for one from amazon. Gonna get that, then at a time when something
else goes wrong, send the broken lead with it to The Tech Guys who will then replace it as part of my cover plan.0

My HP laptop charger has broken about 5 times and i have to wiggle it in, in the end it broke and it did something to the motherboard and it had to be replaced.
I know that some HP laptops have been recalled but once i had the problem HP refused to take it back - just to warn you. I had to get it done in a shop thingy.

I ordered a charger off Amazon this morning. Found one at £14 including delivery. Wonder if it'll be here by the weekend. Any way I can get it to work as a temp fix?

Fuse in the plug is OK, because I managed to get it to charge this morning somehow, but now it's packed up again. Am I right in thinking that if the board was at fault, it wouldn't charge at all?

Anyone know if the recall affect the dv6-1210sa? even if HP wont fix it, I have a cover plan with PC World.

Orly? You've never mentioned it... he lied.

If the new charger doesn't work its probably something that's come loose in the port, if you have a cover plan take it to them and they'll probably poke around at it and give it you back and tell them there's nothing wrong with it. Then phone HP and see what they say, at least you have a fighting chance of them being helpful. Can't you do work on your desktop? (assuming that's what you're typing on now)

My desktops useless for my schoolwork, it don't run the software I need (photoshop).

I've got it to work
if I plug the lead half into the port. So is the lead still the problem?

See if the new lead does it.
