Hey,

I noticed im getting a hell of a lot of spam recently, so I googled my MSN and this came up - http://www.alexxlabs.info/

Looks like a leaked database of a pile of peoples emails from a forum maybe?

Anyway, how would I go about reporting this to get mine removed as the whois is protected.

Thanks

Interesting, one of my email addresses is on there. I would try and find the host and then report it to the host.

EDIT: Nameserver point to ns1.cthost.org and ns2.cthost.org, maybe cthost.org? :P

EDIT2: It's offshore :|

One of my e-mail addresses is on there too. I would only suggest what has been said so far. If you have any luck then report back :)

Yeah I checked the host and its offshore so reporting wouldn't be so simple.

Any ideas what forums you guys used with your email? I use the same one for all so it doesnt narrow my search down atall :P

This is the internet. Once its published it is nearly impossible to remove it. Like for example, I've just viewed that list and I could go ahead and publish it somewhere else and someone else could view it and publish it, so on and so forth.

Whole load of Habbox emails there too, e.g. [email protected], and Matt's addresses.

Maybe its got something to do with Clubhabbo being hacked? Maybe its their leaked database?

Mine's on there.

I'm almost certain it's Tehupload. They've already leaked my damn password, and now my email too? They really are ******* idiots.

May I suggest you switch to Gmail as their spam filter is incredibly solid, I get around 400 spam emails a month and most months, not one filters through into my inbox. Nor does it catch legitimate emails by accident.

Owner's Bebo anyone? :P http://www.bebo.com/Profile.jsp?MemberId=5909960422

******* TehUpload, what a load of ****.

Got an email back:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention,

I will initiate an investigation immediately!

Ahhh right, yeah I did sign up on there ages ago.

Who was it that owned tehupload to begin? It did do pretty well to start off, I remember having the app they released.

Hopefully WRZHost's investigation will bring it down, even if the list is out there now, it's one less to worry about.

Allegedly he got hacked and then all user details were leaked, and continue to be leaked. At any rate it was a lapse of security by Dentafrice which is unacceptable. He also failed to encrypt the database which is some pretty basic stuff.

In all this it's just taught me to MD5 encrypt and salt email addresses as well as passwords if it's possible -_-

That would be kinda counter-productive since typically you also use the email address to say, erm, email them :P Also if you used the email address rather than username how do you locate what salt to use if all you have it unhashed data to compare with hashed data for which you need the salt. A type of paradox I guess.

I don't code so I wouldn't know :P

There must be a way to encrypt them whilst still being useful!

Mine is on there... That's probably the reason as to why I'm all of a sudden "rich" with an est. of about $10,000,000,000 in my bank *cough*

Try dropping [email protected] an email, quoting the IP address 217.23.3.127 and the site's URL http://www.alexxlabs.info/

It's unlikely anything will happen I'm afraid though.

Yes...

Forwarding the same email to [email protected] may also be helpful.

Who did you email/who suspended it?

Edit: Presumably it looks like the webhost, not the server provider.
