View Full Version : Adding/Removing Donate Colours
I think that if you change them around every now and again it will get more people to buy them because i say people are sick of the current ones, for example you could have added "Ice Blue" for Habbox Olympic, doesn't have to be related to and event just to surprise people with new colours and get them to buy it. And choose weird nice colours not plain normal ones
Ask the users or get sammeth/garion to pick them (gays are probs good with this sort of stuff lol)
And you only leave them in for a certain period like a week, month few hours etc
yeah just an idea :D

I was looking at the Habbox VIP+ usergroups in ACP the other day and was thinking "hmm we should implement these colours as normal vip".
So more colours could be an option, but i do agree about donator, switching the colours may be an idea.
This is quite a big thing though so it'll need Sam & Jins comments before anything can happen :)

I think just more variety for each VIP and Donator would be much better for all. Although seeing like 30 different colours on the forum wouldn't be good so I would think only a couple more :D
have a limit... no more than 6, when u wanna add one take another one

Sounds like a nice idea :) Just depends how management feel about jumbling it around every so often

I don't actually know what the colours are, but what if the VIP+ colours became the only VIP colours while the current normal colours remain as Donator so there is a distinction between VIP and Donator? At the moment, people who are in high ranking Star user-groups don't care about VIP because they can see who gave them reputation and play in the arcade anyway, so I would prefer this to mixing them round regularly because it would make VIP sort of more prestigious if you like

I don't see why there shouldn't be a choice of 30 colours or w/e, in fact we should be able to shove our own hex code into a box and choose one :D Obv limit the ranges so we can't choose green or red but apart from that should be able to go mental.

I generally like forums with loads of username colours to be fair.

I think perhaps if we did perhaps 2 colours a month that would be good. Then you change the two colours - and you cannot get them again for another year. This would increase purchases in bulk :)

The problem with demala's suggestion is that if two crap colours come out in one month then nobody would buy donator forthat month.

Perhaps if a poll was made for the fourth week of each month, asking what users wanrt the next two colours to be?

I agree, on topic though, why not add more features to the user cp, allow users with vip or donater to change the colour of their name themselves, also I think you should allow people to add html to there user title.

It would make a nice change but in order for it to work some routine would need to be worked out. For example planning ahead for what we could have when, a poll would be a nice idea as mentioned.
The only issue is that there are not really many colours outside the range we already use as many as almost identical and would be slightly pointless to have seven shades of blue, purple and orange for example.
As for the more popular colours for example the Easter and christmas they would most likely stay aside for now even though selling VIP has taken a halt.
I don't think it would be a bad idea providing the colours are gathered from popularity and put into a schedule for changing them.

Two different blues can be sexy. I would like more shades of colors.

Two or three of each would be reasonable, but not the full range of them as that would be slightly over the top in my opinion.
I would advise getting some ideas together on colours you would like to see, how often and what sort of change pattern people would like and then bring it forward. It could then be put into a poll or for discussion. That way its easier to try focus on what the users want to see and helps the suggestion better.

I'm not a huge fan of the idea to have them changed on a regular basis because let's face it, it's quite likely that it would end up neglected as it wouldn't be top of the list of important things to do
Yoshi, what do you think of the idea to take the old VIP+ colours and use them for VIP, while leaving the Donator colours as they are?

At the moment there are still users with VIP+ so i think we want those colours to remain exclusive to some extent until the majority subscriptions have ended as they did pay extra at the time for it.
The other issue is that VIP can only be won with the exception of giving to charities which could be done more regular but not so much that it would be charity after charity. That's the only way to release them as VIP unless you add more donator colours for certain occasions or something.
Im talking about having them as donator.. not vip lol... Also how many people have VIP+ / when does it expire? (if u can say tht info)

I have to say it seems a bit of a tedious idea to have quite a few colours knocking about. Maybe we could start introducing a few more colours for limited edition type things but the reason we try to keep them limited is because there isn't a lot to choose from, in the sense we want to keep everything clearly defined rather than have colours that already look quite similar to others.

Well once all the VIP+ subscriptions have expired then. Normal VIP is still very popular in terms of how many people have it and how often it's won. The whole point I'm getting at is if the special colours are reserved for VIP it would make more sense given that VIP is extra rare :)
