Well Radio Licence will cost around 200 - 300 Pound

You need:
Microphone
Sam Broadcaster v2 or v3 (Not in production so find it on random sites)

Thanks it really!

Erm you can find the Sam Broadcaster code on HabboxForum some where. Also, I would use Advent Microphones for a Microphone!

Well firstly is the radio an online radio or an fm radio, everyone seems to think its an online radio, if its an fm radio the prices for a licence are going to be greater and you will have to go through a different company.

@Mickword
Why do you recommend out-dated software? if he wants all this to be legit and if it is for an online radio, he will be only able to purchase Sam broadcaster 4.6, which will cost $279.00.

Offerall you will need for an online radio is:
Webhosting with decent bandwhich - £20 a year (www.sawhosting.com (http://www.sawhosting.com))
Shoutcast - 128kbs would be the best way to go, Price varys depending on listener count. (www.myshoutserver.com (http://www.myshoutserver.com))
Website - Varys
Sam Broadcaster 4 - 279$ (http://www.spacialaudio.com/?page=sam-broadcaster-buy)
Microphone - Professional microphones would be the best (http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/)
Music (http://www.amazon.co.uk/music)

KyleSmith

If you're going to use this in a school use completely legal software, do not steal the license key from HXF, schools can be taken to court and fined just as easily as a person, the school can then put the blame on you.

Run it on a shoutcast then is the obvious choice.

FM: Radio Station on a Radio.
Online: Only on Computer through shoutcast.

True.

I could push it too 1000 pound.

That would be best.

Do your own market research.

While I appreciate what you're trying to do, perhaps you should reconsider judging by your lack of experience with this. It's a big project and you really can't afford to get everyone else to do it for you. If things go wrong will you know what to do? You don't seem to know the most basic of things when it comes to this and sadly Habboxforum can't help you with everything.

My two cents.

You don't start straight away on a rather complicated £5k project.

Richie

Yeah I agree we do, but your starting the wrong way and at such a big budget, that's like me becoming a hairdresser who never held a pair of scissors before.

I agree, dude you seem like you lack experience with this type of thing. Seriously you should not be doing this and starting to learn doing this type of thing from a 5k budget is abit extreme, would you even know how to setup and configure the local shoutcast stream and get it to playout on all the speakers?

KyleSmith
11-02-2010, 08:53 PM
Yes i would be able to, I can do like 2 speakera but unsure on like 10 speakers but thats what we have computer technitions for.

Tomm

Will you also be able to get power to the speakers?

KyleSmith

Yep, They have power surges all around the school for the fingerprint register system thing n cashless cafeteria thing.

Amplifier

Tomm
11-02-2010, 09:00 PM
Um, you sure you mean power surges? :P

Anyway, if you have power you can use active speakers rather than passive ones. This means you don't need an amplifier to power all the speakers.

In year 7 i used to own my own radio site. An i wanted to bring it into school i spoke to the deputy head and she said yes its a great idea. They got Notebook Macs in for the editing and things but the thing that failed it was the lack of money. But now i have 5k to spend on it, It is possible that it will happen.

Adamm

You don't have £5,000 (yet) and even if you did you wouldn't know what to do with it (hence this thread). It's a bad idea and if you get the funding, a waste of my tax.

Kevin

I'd really like to speak to you're principal, as this sounds like an idea out of the movie 'accepted'

You quite clearly haven't a rats clue about how to approach this project, and reading this project I cringed numerous times.

I beg you not to take on this project, as you will most definitely mess it up, and it will come back to you.

If you're school has serious money to spend on radio equipment, I suggest that they seek the advice of professionals, and not 8-18 year olds on habboxforum.

Ive spoke to my teacher and it was already in the pipework. We have a radio station (mobile one) came into school about it and there on about buying kit on a smaller scale im just going to be involed in it now. Not like the main person thanks for all help.
