Hi guys,

I've been a lurker for quite a few months, but i decided to register on the
forums today :) some of you guys are quite a friendly bunch (from surfing
around earlier).

I'm just a little curious (actually very, very intrigued) though. I was
searching for a old thread i read some time back on the forum via google and
i spotted that that this site** is worth *$153,720* from this url

Seriously? that's pretty damn impressive in my books. Must be you guys
posting everyday and contributing. anyway, just thought you guys might want
to know... yes i heard web 2.0 and community is priceless but that's
errrr... is seriously wild. I wonder if it was calculated like a dollar a
post or something.

lol richie. I just purchased 5% silent share of a fansite (not habbo based), long as u make money back from it its worth it, and ofc make sure its done officially and don't get scammed.

On topic : this forum is not worth that much, the site bases it on wrong figures.

Even if those website valuers were reliable, I don't see why they would be publicly valuing people's websites for free. Anyway as an investment, I doubt Habbox could ever be considered a wise one. I'm not sure how much of a profit it generated in the VIP days but it certainly doesn't boast anything nowadays.

PPLUK seemed pretty ok with our reasons for not needing a license from them and haven't bothered us since ;)

But yeah if we got that much per month we wouldn't be in the red each month.

Pfft, that site isn't to be taken seriously :P The forum is probably worth either 1/10 or 1/20 of that. It cannot make any money (other than through adverts), it's a fansite and has a very limited usage/fanbase. $7,686 is probably the real price :P

That happened with the old habboforum. Sliced thread I think it's called now. It hasn't worked.

People dont realise that a sites value isnt based just on its hits.
Its based on:
Uniques per month
Income
Profit
Costs
Staff required
Type of site

Tbh, Habbox could be making ALOT ($x,xxx per month) of money if they used certain ad companies (not adult ones - normal ones). I have suggested it to Jin but he said no as it was pop ups.

It is also clicks per ad, and I don't think many, if any will have interest in the google generated ads.
