Just wondering, what is the reason behind the fact that Cautioned members cannot view spam?
It might be to reduce rule breaking but Spam forum isn't always the cause of it.

Cause spam is one of the most used forums, being cautioned = bad = no good features = removal of spam.
because spam is seen as privilege and you get it taken away when your cautioned, along with rep, pms, userprofile etc

I think its because its where most of the problems start so if they cant view that then hopefully it will help them appreciate it a bit more.

Spam is a privilege, and so breaking the rules exempts a user from its use along with the profile and private message restrictions.

it's annoying when you get the "you have been cautioned" pm though because you can't even view it -.-

Are you talking about automatic ones when you get to 5 points or manual bans? Can you still see your infractions/warnings when cautioned? If so it's the manual bans that are annoying you. On a personal note I do have some sympathy with you there as when you don't know the reason you it is difficult to to appeal via support. I don't know what the answer to that would be as if a pm was sent first then the ban was implemented you would have to be online to read the pm. Bit of a chicken and egg situation. You could enquire though through the support system as to why you have been cautioned though.

The PM for an automatic caution would be the one corresponding to 5 infraction points. Though you can't read it you should have a good idea of the offence you have committed and by attempting to visit your profile you should get the ban reason regardless of whether it was automatic or manual.

In reply to your post Rosie, Yoshi has pretty much summed it up:
The PM for an automatic caution would be the one corresponding to 5 infraction points. Though you can't read it you should have a good idea of the offence you have committed and by attempting to visit your profile you should get the ban reason regardless of whether it was automatic or manual.
However the Support Systems are manned pretty much constantly so if you have a query as to why you are banned you can post and pretty much get a response within an hour.
The reasoning for cautioned members not seeing spam, has been perfectly highlighted by Graham & Yoshi, it is a privelidge that should be removed.

It is for those who want it for its general purpose however being cautioned you cannot post this that and other rubbish on the forum as doing so would get you into further trouble. So the incentive is there to accept and take on the caution and start another chance when it has finished.

It might be "manned pretty constantly" until you prove someone wrong, then they take their time to reply. Not naming anyone, just pointing it out ;)

I was also wondering why cautioned members can create Feedback threads but not post in them? :S I also noticed I wasn't allowed to edit my posts in the Debates section for some reason?

No, not really. My point is I don't see the advantage of not allowing them to post in threads but allowing them to create threads. Also don't see why out of all sections, the debates one happens to not allow editing?

I think that is more down to permissions error, or the fact you are able to create threads and receive a reply for information regarding a situation.

Oh, I see :) Also just noticed that VIPs can't close their own threads in Debates?

Again, it is most likely down the permissions unless it was set that way to begin with. See Sammeth about that.

I think I have only ever been cautioned once, and that was when I joined.
It is very annoying indeed. I guess its actually good to remove some key features.

If it's down to permissions do you mean regarding my account specifically, or that it's just how the general permissions are supposed to be?

Cautioned members can't post in feedback threads as it is a privelidge that we let users give us their ideas.
They can create threads incase they need to find out how to find info on their ban/caution.
I'll look into the debates thing now.

Generally across the board, i don't have access to the forum permissions so i couldn't tell you if its the case.
