Considering the new year starts on 14th Feb, one would assume that news will be released then or the following day (as it's a sunday).

It is usually released beforehand. I think Habbo may have not prioritised it as it clashes with the same day as Valentines this year.

I live in Hong Kong and this is one of the biggest festivals here. People celebrate it on Sunday as that's when it actually happens. You can't decide to randomly celebrate it sometime else, I would not celebrate New Year in August for example.

Tbh chinese new year isn't really the biggest holiday for us is it, and as said before it clashes with valentines so.

You contradicted yourself...

You're saying you cant randomly decide to celebrate it elsewhere, so you're saying the Chinese people who celebrate new year are wrong because new year is January the first...

I haven't seen this new furni - does anyone have a link??

Habbo CNY was awesome when they first celebrated it and it was the first time we ever saw Asian Furni, but I think they've done it to death now.
