Every Saturday night, HxHD has a Quiz to put your brains to the test. You can win excellent prizes if you win and also just for taking part! All you have to do is search :Jin: at 5pm every Saturday! It's that simple, so what are you waiting for?


I think overall, one was done.

It started on the 23rd and supposed to be every saturday night, yet none was done on the 30th or the 6th? Is there one organsied for tonight?

I'm aware there was another quiz (on the 11th part of fansite fortnight) however that was nothing to do with the saturday night quiz

So is there any reason why it hasn't taken place for the last 2 weeks (3 if there isn't one tonight)

Was it just an idea thrown out the window and never bothered to continue, or whats happening? :P

Raffle
A raffle will also take place at the end of the month. YOu can be entered into the raffle if you answer a question right first. So out of the 4 quizes if you get any question right, and you're the first in the room you're name gets jotted down along with a number. Then at the end of the month we will randomly select a number and they will bag themselves 1 month HxF VIP! (Please be aware, you're name will only be put in once, this is to give everyone a fair chance)


Did a raffle take place for the first month? as i seen no winners of the 1 month VIP?


It was a good idea and did get HxHD popular it's a shame it was abandoned.

Tbh, the lack of effort put in by staff is appauling,nobody will do it. Fair does on those who seriously can't make it but for the others its just lack of effort.

Really sorry about this so it either looks like I'll be hosting it every saturday or we scrap it. With last months raffle, this didn't go ahead cause there were only 2 quiz's so I didn't see much point, and it looks like the same this month, but there'll deffo be a raffle.

Even if you get another staff (i.e. competitions staff) as they're habbox staff they should be reliable/trusted, just ensure a staff member lets them behind or you give them access to staff entrance to host the quiz if no other member of staff will.

Clearly the staff need to be pushed into doing it as if they don't show the effort to host a quiz they shouldn't be staff in the first place i'd hate to see what happend is someone comes in for help, can they not be bothered to help? :S

A typical HxHD quiz lasts 15 mins max anyways so it's not asking for alot and it doesn't take alot of time to come up with 15-20 questions either :P

But yeah agreed with Scott actually, if they can't be bothered to help the department out, I know there are many people DAILY who would.

I could think of a good few questions in a space of a couple of minutes, which are nice and snappy. It will be unfortunate if it isnt revived next week, glad Ben is making the effort to keep it going though.

I know Ben is angry that no staff are wanting to do them but the time we are asked to do them at 5pm which is a time I cannot do. If it was moved I would be happy to do one.

It was held tonight by me at a later time, worked really well and loads of people turned up and it was great fun. Hence why I don't think we'll be stopping it. I'll try sort it by next week and maybe relax the times so staff can pick a time between 5 - 8pm to host one to give them a bit more chance.

That would actually be alright, but obviously just asking questions about BB code and basic html as alot of people who use the help desk are about 13 so would of learn basic through school/on their on/forum code

But asking advances PHP/c++ questions etc would just fail

Or just like technology in general like what does FTP/SMTP etc stand for.

just me who did constant spreadsheets at school then? Our ICT department was rubbish! It'd be good for other departments to be able to interact more with the community as long as HxHD staff (not aiming it at anyone) don't become complacent and think "oh it's alright, we don't have to do any now, the [insert department name here] department will do it" cos it should still be their own thing. Maybe once a month, another department can host :D

i like the idea of bringing the different departments together to do the quizzes. But wont the RVR be in minkiest's room if they did a quiz?

The rare values desk has been completely inactive for a while now, the only time its had a person in it this month is last week for about 2 hours when the values weren't able to update and some people helping.
