This is the only place I see fit to post this, I'm just wondering how many of you read the first post and just post and how many of us actually read the whole thread...

edit: I added an option for only reading certain people's posts because there might be a few people who only read, say, their friend's posts.

When you mean certain posts, I'm talking about ones which have not repeated themselves in a thread which I see way too often and are constructive, so I have an idea of what has happened in the thread. Anything else then no, I don't read it, especially if it is off the topic.

I mainly read all the posts in the thread if the thread is important to me, ie something to do with HxHD etc. Or if its an important topic.

If its other things, I tend to read a few posts and see that they look the same and just skip the rest :P

you need to get in there early or you're ignored!!!!

I tend to read them all or if it's a long thread skip a page, read a page, skip a page etc.

For me it depends really. If it is an intruiging or controversial topic, if it's just a boring one where I know I probably won't get any good responses then it's just certain people who have knowledge of it etc.

If I read a thread I tend to do it because I am interested in the topic. 90% of the time I will, therefore, read the thread before I respond so
a) I can respond to other interesting replies,
b) I don't post the same as 10 other people and look like a fool.

There are occasions where threads are super long where I will only skim read though, and then post a reply. Or bypass a bunch of pages where people are starting to repeat themselves over and over.

In Feedback yes depending if its about something that could/needs to be done by me or the content team. Technology discussion - depends what it is about - build computer threads no because everyones like

"Why get get a 4.0Ghz proccessor called the Raptop 2301-XX"

"But that wouldnt work with an atom motherboard ato-x2"

"Just use the atom ato-x1"

"But thats not compatible with the xram-1029 6gb"

Etc.

obviously they arent real brands.

I read all of a thread when I'm interested because I am very cool. Only person to have read the entirety of the KKK thread :eusa_danc

But yeah why bother skipping to the end if you're just gonna then post the same as everyone else and look like a fool *REMOVED*

Edited by Jamesy (Forum Super Moderator): Please do post to cause arguments, thanks.

i read it all you mong
i read the first few then just look for people who actually post interesting points, arguments etc. normally ignore most of the spammers because their opinions tend to be irrelevant. same in teens i dont normally read everyones post unless it's someone whos gonna be funny (ie flyingjesus) and my advice is always right obv so idc about anyone elses.

so just certain posts

depends how long the thread is.

I normally read all the thread. I have 40 posts on per page and have read threads over 4 pages. Although I don't read forum games lol

Otherwise you look stupid when you repeat what others have said 20 thousand times

surely you have to read the post to know its off topic :P

i read certain threads all the way through, but if its like 'what is blah blah blah' ill read teh first post, then post, then read the ones after mine

I generally read the first page and then post or if it's something i feel strongly about or am really interested in i will read the entire thread but thats rare ^^.

This sums me up too. I always have to go through every page anyway so New Posts doesn't keep showing it as unread lol so I generally just read the posts as I do that. The main section where I might not read every reply is in Spam when there are fifteen pages about who just broke up with who on Habbo

I'm still in moderator mode so read every thread of any topic i come across :'(

Inseriousity.
17-02-2010, 10:53 AM
Depends where the topic is. I tend to read every post in Habbox Feedback because the threads can go widely off-topic and actually provide me with constructive feedback for comps (I think most of the feedback in December was in a thread about something completely different :P)!

Although I don't tend to read all the posts in Spam as if I do post, you can normally tell where the conversation's going from the last couple of pages.

I think that's actually a very tedious aspect of your job which some people perhaps don't realise!

I do read most of the thread, mostly skim reading to get the gist. Though I am guilty of not spotting a page two :P

Depends on the thread itself, sometimes I do read the entire thread which I rarely do

Usually,I just read the 1st post and a little more and jump to any pages and then post

It depends really

A thread like this asking for peoples opinions i only read a few like 3-4 posts then post

Other threads i read it all

Threads with like 400 posts i read about 10 then post

:P

leah
