Can I just say that those "lying" to get free reputation will be caught out.

The people caught so far have not only lost the 30 rep they got for "voting", but also quite a bit more from angry users.

One user lost 35 reputation points from angry users alone...

Really not worth it guys

All you have to do is click two buttons.

You cant really find out can you unless the user is stupid and says they didnt really vote ;)

There are other ways of cheating too, not that this really needs to be discussed. Three users have been caught, two without admitting.

I would say 90% of the people posting in that thread genuinely voted.

Other ways of cheating too? What do you mean :S
There's only really one way. The person saying they voted when they haven't.

I am just intrigued as to how you plan to catch out all the liars :P

Inseriousity.

I'm hardly going to highlight the ways in which you can con 30 rep out of us?

All I'm saying is those who have tried so far have failed, miserably.

Those who try it, will more than likely slip up by telling someone or doing something which suggests otherwise :)

As I said, 90% of the thread will be honest therefore it's worth it.

I was merely asking as it intrigued me as to how you can find out if someone voted - unless you plan to hack into their account (unlikely) / get a list of everyone who votes (unlikely), ask Habbo staff for the list (unlikely).

Anybody who gets caught out will face the consequences is what it means.

People will slip up :)

If they slip up, they are simply morons and cant keep their mouth shut.

Funny though, a good example to stop people from cheating tbh. One user lots 65 rep points in total, 30 taken that was given for "voting" then 35 from angry users who saw him admit it :P

hah

Misawa admitted he didnt vote and lost loads of rep lol.

But if you post twice its kinda obvious that you are only in it for the rep and havent voted

Angry users? Err I wouldnt -rep anyone personally because they lied saying they voted "/ Bit harsh in my opinion.

What do you mean? I or anybody else, could easily post 'Voted' in that thread without actually voting and you have absolutely no way of knowing? Only possible way I can imagine is if Habbo provided you with a list of voters but then you would have to match up everybody's Habbo and forum names which is hardly worth the bother because as you say, the majority probably do actually vote.

I'm happy to admit I only voted for the rep and to support Habbox rather than because I thought that fansite was particularly worthy, but even if I had lied I wouldn't have felt compelled to "slip up" by telling anybody :P

He admitted the only way they can tell is if people slip up.
So he must have posted the below just to scare people:

At the end of the day this is a positive incentive and Roxy obviously decided to trust the users when she decided to offer reputation for votes.

If users abuse it, then we simply won't be as generous in future?

Thread closed.

Ofcourse, hence I think its a good thing that you are offering reputation. My threads only purpose was to find out how admins will find out if people are lying or not ;)
Anyway, Thread closed.
