Getting a tattoo anywhere that can be seen, such as on your arms and wrist, is basically an instant no-no if you are looking for a decent job.

Hmm well at the min im a trainee chef, and i have a tongue piercing and they don't mind about that. because i can hide it, i wouldn't really have it on show when im in the ktichen cuz chef whites go over it.

They look more like upper arm tattoo's wrather than wrist tattoo's

and besides... you have a long life. You could just randomly decide to change your mind about your career and decide to go for a better job, that does show your tattoo...

No, I'm not wrong - I live in the real world. Kids today don't appreciate the fact that no one decent employer wants to see long, greasy hair, piercings and tattoos. It has always been the same. You won't see a guy working in a bank with a tattoo on his arm, but you will someone who works in Tesco.

When you go for an interview in any professional organisation you usually dress smartly and wear a suit so your arms are covered. The interviewer is hardly likely to ask you to roll up your sleeves to see if you have any tattoos.
If you get the job the worst that could happen is that the employer asks you to keep your arms covered. I would agree it could be a problem on any part that you couldn't cover but even that is becoming less and less these days.

I can barely see you from up there on your high horse.
Anyway personally I wouldn't go for any of those tattoos but the point about getting them higher up your arm makes sense.

Just thought I'd add to the IRONY of your post. Deluded.

Deluded is using actors, let alone Hollywood actors, in an example. Pitiful.

Adamm

It's IRONIC.

The hilarity is almost... too much. You are deluded. I don't have a tattoo nor do I want one, nor like them, however I accept that other people have them and that CANNOT affect their career prospects.

May I refer oneself to this link: http://direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/ResolvingWorkplaceDisputes/DiscriminationAtWork/index.htm

I won't waste another moment explaining to you. And no, there is no irony because you are clueless to my words. I will leave this thread having exhausted the extent of my time with you. Good day.

BECAUSE TODAY, THE MINORITY HAS DEFEATED THE LORD! LORD MISAWA HAS TODAY, BEEN PROVED... WRONG!

It's a landmark in HabboxForum history. He cannot explain himself therefore has left the thread. He has been proven wrong. I'm bookmarking this page and shall return to it one year later to celebrate the anniversary of this moment.

A TATTOO CANNOT harm your job prospects. It is illegal for a start.

Out of those i'd say pick the third.

Whoever said everyone who gets a tattoo has long greasy hair and piercings?

In reference to the job thing, the thing that most people forget is that probably 40% or more of 16+ year olds are getting tattoos now a days, so in the future a lot more employers won't be able to worry about people having tattoos because most people will have them imo.

Plus, I like the first onee :D

Cheryl
21-02-2010, 07:16 PM
just to say: the most respected teacher at my school has 3 visible tattoos, wrist, foot and lower back, probably the 3 most visible place on a woman's body ;)
Also: please do not get the third it looks like the lib dem logo

I know plenty of very successful people who have large tattoos that are visible on their bodies. I'm not going to get a tattoo anywhere that is visible with clothes on because I simply don't want questions. When I get a tattoo it will be a rib cage tattoo, probably something that can be hidden with my arms.

another word of wisdom from the chronicles of ********.

I know alot of men and women who have upstanding jobs with tattoos. Many teachers at my school who hold senior positions have them and i know a lawyer who works for our government has one she showed me when i did W,e there.

I think they are nice and i am having one on my left wrist but don't know what :)

Adamm you're just missing the point entirely. Obviously Hollywood actors don't come under the same classification as highly respected jobs such as bank managers or high ranking business people. It is common knowledge that it's unwise to get highly visible tattoos if you want to protect whatever career prospects you may have.

Personally I don't see the attraction of meaningless graphics that are just tattoos for the sake of a tattoo. As for the thread though, I think the second one looks the best :)

Adamm
23-02-2010, 01:47 PM
No, I'm not Robald. You're just sucking up to Misawa. As this thread has proven, plenty of people have tattoos and still have highly respected jobs. If employees do not hire them on the basis of the tattoo then that is illegal. It's discrimination.

I was having a joke with the actor thing, even though the point still stands. Being an actor is a job.

Black_Apalachi
23-02-2010, 04:31 PM
Yes I'm sucking up to Misawa because he is clearly above me isn't he :eusa_clap As this thread has proven, the statement wasn't regarding all jobs.
