:O

Talking to someone you went LFC -> BWFC for no reason.

(was a prop supporter went to games, went to that justice for 94 thing)

Whats your view on the crime called 'switching teams' ?

Well, it depends, I don't mind people going to local teams games, I've been to a few Bradford games but I'd still say I'm mackem. I don't mind if they're young and didn't know any better, like myself.

My step-dad tries to tell me when i was young i wanted to be a red. They have a picture when he forced upon me a united shirt :(

I don't think that matters though, once i found out what football actually was and how much i should hate united i turned blue.

nothing wrong with going down but going from bolton to liverpool is just glory-hunting pretty much.

AlexOC

But it dosent make sense. I couldn't love and passionately watch another team like i do with my babes city.

that's just weird. i can accept it if someone had a childhood team they used to watch on TV like Man U and then realised that it's better to support your local team.

It depends really. I think you should be loyal to one team once youve decided who to support and are older than age 16.

I used to support united as a kid, but got a season ticket with burnley a good few years ago and have supported them ever since. Can't see myself changing now, although sometimes i do wish i was born around a different team.

Bolton though? That is a terrible decision.

I've always supported United. Even if United were in the Conference League right now, i would still support them..

I think i support United because when i was growing up, my brother's supported em - I would of probably support any of team if it was different (then)

I know someone who supported Man Utd and then started supporting Liverpool because their parents paid him 20 quid. Okay not really glory hunting but still..

the weirdest thing i've ever done is gone to forest and want them to win. (im a derby fan).

I can't understand how someone's mind works if they decide to change teams. It's not something I could ever do :(

Bun

yeah i think that only people who don't necessarily have a team they have devoted to a certain bit of their life to, then i think it's easier for them to swap teams. when you go through thick and thin wiht a team though you get attached to it, even if boro went into administration and got wiped off the face of the earth i don't think i'd be able to follow another team with the same passion.

i follow united because my dad does. I reckon if i still lived where i did in england i would support wolves because i do believe in supporting your local team. But i could never change now from united even if we do go bust and get relegated and lose all out players i will still love and watch them.

I don't have any family who were particularly into football before I was and I can't say I've been to many games and I don't even live actually in Liverpool any more but it's just such an unbearable thought.

I was actually thinking recently about how the progress of your football club could affect your general morale throughout your life. Like if we lose a game, I'm usually in a bad mood for the rest of the day. I feel really sad for Pompey fans with what might be happening to their club. If that happened to us I don't think I'd even follow football any more.

Well... My family weren't interested in football at all either, so I was quite a late bloomer to enjoy this fine sport! But, I just followed whichever team happened to be on the box. And guess who was on most often? Manchester United. So I ended up being a part-time United fan, but I never truly felt settled. Then, my mum told me more about my granddad being an avid Sunderland fan when he died, so I took on the family club. :D My little brother stayed true to United though.

Kick your brother in the teeth and make him chance club.

I think it's disgusting... support your local club, or at least go and watch the club that you support.

It's nice, moving up there to the University hopefully in 2011, the Uni's 10 minutes away from the SoL. The stadium is nice, and the area it's in is (by the riverside) but the city itself isn't great. Go up to Newcastle if you want the good bars and pubs.

Trains are hard to Sland but the games on a Sunday so it's even worst, going up by car. How long does it normally take by car?

when we went by car ages ago, like 6/7 years ago we parked in some business park or industrial estate and went on the park and ride buses to the ground.

Grrr!! You're police tried sending us home for the FA match this year because the game was 'cancelled' due to snow!! Yeah ******* right it is!!! Then when you get there you get forced in and told to sit down every five minutes only to be told 'Don't swear at me or ignore me or I will get my manager involved'.

I swear HxF moderating is the training to become a steward.

I remember when I used to sort of half like football, but wasn't that interested, the first team I supported was Man Utd, i've still got a shirt somewhere at home haha, but I think I only liked Man Utd because beckham was a quality player for them and enjoyed watching him play, then when rumours came in about him leaving, I decided then, because my friend supported Chelsea I supported them, and I have ever since.

(and no... not because they got bought by abramovich)

Aswell as Chelsea, I do go to some Brighton games aswell as they are my local team.
