Well, basically 2 days ago I renewed a years subscription for xbox live, and yesterday I rented aliens vs. predator for a week, and then this morning the screen just went red, then I saw the 3 red rings on my xbox.

So I unplugged it for a day, and tried again and it didn't work, so this morning I rung the foreigners that are xbox support, and gave them all details, then he said my 3 years warantee has run out.

I got my xbox just over 3 years ago, it got rrod then they fixed it, I got it back and it got RROD again, but this time I got a letter with my xbox saying it's a new one as the old one couldn't be repaired, that was a year and abit later.

But the person on the other side of the phone who I could barely understand said that I don't get a new warrantee, the one from my original xbox is transferred over.

So BASICALLY I have to pay £80 for a repair, I think it was 80, I couldn't understand, but I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

This is why I have a PS3 but yeah, I almost got this when I had one (and it was preowned so xD).

This is going to cause argument.

They did mine for free back last year, just as they put the warranty up to 3 years.

I'm technically on my 4th xbox but never has it been for RROD.

1st - Disk Tray died
2nd - Disk Tray died
3rd - My brothers took it and I got my 4th.

I must be coming up to the three year mark and never had any trouble with mine.

I'm not, it's still not a great failure rate but I just find it breaks less, however 2/5 playstation 3s have broken (but they were 60gbs so more likely). I'm not trying to make an arguement I'm stating a fact why I got one, that and I just generally prefer it - my opinion. However I never stated they never break. Wiis are the only ones in this gen that never practically break, then again who uses it to start with (except kids who grab their wiis and smash it when they can't get past a level in mario).

Wii remotes end up inside TVs before the Wii has a chance to break :L

FANBOY! :P

You could ask for their supervisor? Explain your problem, How your consoles new ect (It SHOULD have a new warrenty?)

Although, it could be partially your fault? Like.. Try having it in a well ventilated place as heat + Lead free solder, Isnt good.. (YOU TOO PS3 FANBOYS!)

I bought it directly off of this guy + might never RROD but it sounded close, it wasn't kept tight or on for long.
