Don't carry your passport for starters, if you are using it for ID you are mad. Also i wouldn't go into these areas where this is happening and report it to the police.

If I'm going out I carry my credit card (if it gets stolen and the theif charges stiff to it, not my problem) and my ID, which isn't even mine. Carry minimal amounts of cash on you at all times.

Get a money belt - they are designed to go under your clothes or sometimes can be an actual belt with hidden security.

I always carry a pocket knife for self-defense. If someone is gonna mug me, I'm gonna shank the *******.

sounds great until the guy who's robbing you whips out his shank and actually uses it on you...
get a provisional license if they do them in ireland. i've got one and all clubs accept them.

Doesn't bother me. As long as it stops him getting away with my ****.

I would recommend lessons in a form of martial arts. Personally I did ju-jitsu for a few years - great fun and keeps you fit. I have always kind of wanted to have a chance to try it out for real lol but can't say I've ever been mugged :P

Try getting an actual ID CARD (Like a credit card with picture on it and stuff)
And then get maybe a (key)card necklace? and put it under your shirt - then maybe you could carry Less money but say.. Fold a £20 note and put it underneath the card in the holder?
