Mods so snobby?

I must say i think the BEST moderator is : Butcher11 as he does funny comments like :

k. sometimes when a MOD comes to take your post report another MOD has already dealt with it WITHOUT seeing the report in MODcp.

For example I deal with most rule breakers just by browsing the forums I moderate, and if I move the thread it will appear as if its in 'Unnaceptable Posts' in MODCP -- which means if another MOD went to look at it, they would say it has already been dealt with.

So Basically You're Implying That If You Report A Post Nobody Else Can And A Moderator Isn't Allowed To Edit It Before They Check Your Post Reports? Because That Is What It Sounds Like. It Is Very Possible That Partie Moved It After You Reported But Before Your Report Was Looked At. The Mod Who Changed It Was Just Informing You It Had Been Dealt With. Same With The Other One. As For Butcher, Yes He Is Awesome ;)

Sometimes a Forum Mod will sort out the situation before another mod has seen the Report in the MODcp, Maybe if this happens then they will state the msg you were given, just to save time i suppose ;)

That isn't to mock you, only to make a point. There are quite a few reports and it takes a while to sort them all so mods try and find a quick standard response that they can type quickly. Like I type, Sorted By nvrspk4. Thanks. But maybe they didn't know you reported before it was dealt with...

Guys, is just a stupid comment..we are busy Woof and I do believe we got better things to think about what kind of comments will put in modcp reports just so you will like them before we close it down? :/ No offence but it's stupid :) we try to be nice as much as we can but I'm not gona write some stupid stuff on a report? Thanks, I've handled it And we know who reports it, you don't need to sign them all :)I have seen and also made reports like this in the ModCP. This must be what you are getting at, so let me put my two shiny new pence worth in!

When I close a bad post report the ModCP states I am the moderator. However I close reports already dealt with by another mod. You may ask why? Because ModCP only shows the last 25 bad post reports. Therefore it frees the earlier reports to be looked at, and dealt with. Also I don't want to claim the credit for another mod's work.

To me that isn't snobby, or stuck up. Just honest.

And VIP's should not be able to look at ModCP in my opinion.

Maybe you should concentrate on your own forum?

Report button is used for bad posts that needs a moderator to edit them or close threads..stuff like that. You can't use that button for asking a mod to sticky your tutorial? If you really wanted that you could of PM one of the mods in that section and I'm sure if tutorial is so ''good'' he/she would sticky it but I personally sticky threads I find REALLY helpfull not when people ask me. Hope you like the anwser :8

Liam is probably the only good moderator in the WD forums....And this backs up my reasons for wanting VIP's not to be able to see the ModCP. They might as well see the admin thread for pity's sake!

What I write in the ModCP is for the eyes of Admin only, and to a degree fairly personal. If other Moderators see it then tough for me, but I write in a style that is supposed to be clear and non-offensive - that's how I try to be, and if you or anyone else doesn't like it, then tough on you! I am not swearing, nor being rude. Quite the opposite, I am trying to be as nice as I can be, yet still carry out my duties as a Moderator!

I will be the first to admit I know little about PHP - I could learn like anyone else if I wanted too, but I am too busy. I have far bigger responsibilities. And if you think that sounds snobbish, then you really need to look outside the box. Some of us have college courses, or jobs, or families, or all of the above... It's not snobbery, it's real life!

Now let me reiterate my main point: I do not agree with allowing the ModCP to be visible to the people we ourselves have to warn. It compromises our reporting, as can be seen by this whole thread.

Kroziun -- Forum members can see what comments we put in their own post reports by clicking Quick Links and going to Post Reports -- so they don't have to go in MODcp or be VIP to see what we have wrote on their reports.

As for sending a post report to ask for your thread to be stickied, that IS abuse of the 'Report a bad post' feature -- In a way it's like sending a Call for Help on Habbo asking for a Hobba to come to your talkshow.
