http://www.speedtest.net/result/728105219.png (http://www.speedtest.net) Mines gotten slower because of the fibre optics in the other area (I think). That or my brother is affecting my download speed lol. I done this at my school and it was hitting 25mbps download and 17mbps upload (I don't know if they had fibre optics then as I know the guys are working on it outside but I dunno, I think they were put in by then).

My current download speed is 20kb lol. I mean it's beyond a joke - we pay for decent connection - and for the last week it has taken me hours to download 100mb :l

It once took me like 3 hours (est) to download a 10mb file so I done it the next day and it was back to norm

Your ISPs are probably screening you during peak times (6pm-midnight).

Wait until its been going on a week then phone them and rant, my speeds seem to fluctuate wildly between 2 and 10mbps, doesn't even depend on time of day it just seems random.

I think it's to do with large amounts of people getting online and stuff, especially in your local area.
I'm sure there's more to it than that, but I'm not really sure.

My internet has been poor recently. Kept disconnecting etc

I ended up ringing BT and they said they have had major broadband issues and recommended to reset the router.

So, for everyone thats having problems, try turning off the router for 3 minutes, and turning it back on. Should reset all connections, now try another speedtest
