When you go into "Show Off Your Website Here - Including Habbo Fansites." theres about six threads on HabboHarmony in the last 2 weeks. I think a new rule should be made for this forum that a site can only be advertised once every month (so basically one thread on a site per month overall). Anything new within that month - add to that thread via post.

6 threads on a site in less than 2 weeks? Its ridiculous.

Nothing of that sort in the "READ BEFORE POSTING" thread in that forum:

Can I remind everyone that this forum is for advertising a website and NOT to advertise any job openings what so ever. If you wish to advertise job openings for example "HIRING FORUM MODERATORS" then please post your threads in this forum.
Any threads that are advertising job openings will be moved to the other forum by Moderation Staff.
Thanks,

I see your point here! However I'd like to get the view from the tech moderators see what they think then we'll get back to you on a decision.

I think if a thread about a site goes onto page 2, it is allowed to be remade. If there are threads clearly visible on the first page they should just be merged into the earliest thread visible.

But page 2 only has threads which are 10 days old. Thats giving the people permission to advertise a site every 10 days.

Shouldn't it just be bumped?

Right this is what I'm gonna say as it coincides with general forum rules.
If there is already an active topic advertising a website it is not allowed to create another topic.
The cut off point is 14 days since the last post as any further posts would be classed as bumping.
:)
I know that there is a rule for this. I rmember the announcement :P not sure what the time period was though. A week, 2 weeks or a month

What i've done is just applied the main forum rules, if there is an active thread on a topic it cant be posted again :)

No need for a new rule reptitive threads should be merged together like any other threads about the same subject, as has always been the case in every forum.

Well, technically a duplicate thread which contains the same information would just be closed but if it contains new information which could be valid we would merge them :)
I've posted a force-read thread for that section to stop people doing this by the way, just reiterating the forum rules :)

Agree with Oli. What is the point of merging duplicate threads containing the same information and no substance. A moderator has always had a discretion whether to close or merge a duplicate thread. In this instance it makes sense for a forum specific rule in this section.

:)
But the rule also says you're allowed bump if you have information to be added so it should be longer for website

However the rule doesn't state that if you wanted to post that information in a seperate thread you couldn't, it just says that you can bump the other thread if you wish.

I think one month per website would be better. Why does anyone need to re-advertise a website every 14 days?

If the limit gets abused I will consider extending it, but for now I don't think a specific forum rule is needed :)
I will clarify this with the tech moderators, as I believe these recent multiple threads were missed by them :)
One per 14 days or one per month equally seem good and significantly better than the current situation.
