He thinks if he plays then it will cause a split in the camp and people will side with Terry or Bridge. Terry wasn't going to leage so he has to.

Exactly right. He said 'untenable and potentially divisive' so he's done it for the benefit of the team which is good of him, and Capello has left the door open for him and i still think he's the 2nd best English left back. Sad to see really.
