How Many Can You Carry ?

Well Today at college We have a Big Function in the Restaurant.
And the Manager wanted us to clear quickly.
so we had to learn how to carry lots of plates with Both hands.
Bearing in mind only 2 Out of 8 Of Us Only Knew How

So i wanna know How many Plates You can Carry
1.With Food ?
2. Without [Clearing] ?

My Answers:

1. Three.
2. Eight.

You Should Give it a go
If Your gunna do it DON'T TRY AND BALANCE You need to ajust Your Fingers
Into a Wierd Position to hold the other plate.

Yeah I can do four or so... I'm better at carrying drinks tbh. can do like 4-5 at the same time, full, which takes skills. trust.

And then when you clear it has to be this Layout but you can stack on the Top plate. But believe me it Gets Extremly Heavy.

w/o, depends on how heavy the plate is. i can go max 8 for heavy plates

yep i did :D and i worked as a waitress as well. my hand hurt for days when i started out. my hands r too weak :(

It depends how big the plates are and what's on them. As for clearing away, surely lazerman has it exactly right? And with that I'd say I can carry as many as you want! My dad was a waiter once so he could do it all professionally lol

Quite a good question.

Been working in the catering region for 3 years now. really depends of size of plates:


Large main plates: 4 food - 12 or 13 clearing.
Dessert/side plate: 6 food - 20 clearing

I'd show you some tricks to handle more if you want :) x

Ohh i would love to learn how to take loads xD. cuz i cn do 3 2 on left arm and 1 on right.
College don't let us take out more than two just incase. cuz half of us only been doing it a short time.
