OK, so at school lately there have been really nasty rumours, involving me, and when the truth comes out saying who started the rumour, nothing ever happens, a girl that hated me said in year 4 that I was racist and one of my best mates was black, and everyone was saying don't go near Daniel, do you think people should get in trouble for spreading rumours, because after all it's bullying.

Just laugh it off, if you sit there getting all annoyed and irritated over it denying it then people will think it to be true.

well if you wanted to, you could report it to the school, but i don't think theres much you can do besides laugh it off and act like it doesn't affect you. because at the end of the day, rumours are inevitable in schools, and theres not much you can do to stop spreading them besides wait until no one cares about it.

But when everyone's getting involved in the rumour including some of your friends it gets quite hurtful. P.S I love your sig :D

It it's getting to the point of where you're losing friends, i suggest you tell a teacher you get along with, so more like a formal chat about it.

Or, you could approach things like I would and tell your friends, 'This is clearly lies, who do you belive? me or them'

erm just laugh it off everything passes believe me and normally they're true. I remember i got caught with someone in year 9 and i denied it as a rumor so i won there LOL!

If someone mentions a rumor, it's best to just shrug it off, call it what it is, a rumor. Don't let it phase you or people will make it into something else and believe that it is true.

You could pin someone else up? Well not pin them but basically in my school and probably most others when one rumour starts it usually eventually gets disrupted by another but it's a bit different here, we base it off things already but obviously it gets milked. For example there was a rumour going around that someone on a trip pooed all other the bed, he did but it's obviously exaggerated. Now it's some guy who had it with another, but I don't know how that started because it's new. Basically just wait and it'll pass, that's my advice. Or if anyone speaks of it ignore it, change the subject or as said before, just laugh.

I dunno what goes off a your school but we laugh and joke about racism, of my my best mates is chinese, we have a laugh all the time - Tell your supposed friends to brighten up and realise racism isnt serious unless your going to kick his head in (your not are you?)

Your going to get more problems than this in your life, it happens to everyone. Give it a week or two and if you havent reacted they'll get bored and move on

Im sorry that is happening to you :( Nobody really messes with me at school. This is going to sound cliche but, just ignore them. Those people are saying that for a reason. They are most likely jelous, or that girl likes you..

Hopefully everything gets solved, goodluck.

But it's been going on for about 2 years, and every time this comes up someone ends up fallin' out with me cos I shout "It's not true" and then I end up losing mates

Well if its been going on for this long and its not calmed down, there just being petty, in all honesty if my mates were accusing me of being racist (they couldnt care, but if they were highly against it) i just tell them either Leave or shut up, simple and gets to the point

i guess you could call it being bullied; but they're just rumours.. not gonna affect you forever (unless they're REALLY bad)

Racism is a serious issue and if someone's being racist I would expect a (head) teacher to take immediate action if you told them.

I know its hard to, But Just try your best not to get wound up thats just what they want the more you rise to the situation that fuels it.

Tell Someone you trust if it carrys on but give them a last chance say your going to tell the head teacher if you dont stop or something :)

Indeed however in such a PC country we live in today its hard not to be called racist;- I was arguing with my geography teacher over immigration and he said 'be careful' - careful about what exactly sir?

everything is considered racist to be honest.

I could say something like "my black aunty is an idiot" (yes, i do have a black aunty, and yes she is an idiot. She is a gold digger, okay?) and that'd be considered racist even if it is the truth.

If you trip an indian over by accident its considered racist. But then again it depends on the person..
