I used to be a total bookworm when I was little but then I stopped and i havnt read a book just out of my own interest for years.
Until recently I started reading the catcher in the rye and I've really loved it. I've heard really mixed opinions about it and I can kinda understand why as nothing really happens but I just have really been engrossed in it and I love Holden Caulfield.
Anyone else read it?

first time i read it i loved it.
whilst on summer hols i revisited it and detested Caulfield's selfish, obnoxious character. I mean really its just about a boy whos documenting puberty, Adrian Mole does that and does a helluva better job imo.
but im not knocking some of the visual imagery that Sallinger can create, the picture of NYC thats created is really vivid and provoking

LOVE this book. It was the first school book (in 13 years) i actually enjoyed reading. I just love how realistic it is. J. D. Sallinger (spelling!) did a brilliant job on it!
