Hi, so I want to grow my hair like this:

(face blocked out as I have him on my facebook)
anyway, just wondering how i'd go about getting my hair that long? Is there a technique to it or do I just let it grow? Mine seems to go quite curly at the back when i grow it long, so how would I get the messy effect like above?
Also how do I get the volume like his? (If you get what I mean by that)
Will +rep! Thanks.

Well, i think that it depends on your hair and how fast it grows. If you have curly hair you will most likely have to straighten it or use some sort of paste/fibre putty. You could even go to a local baber shop and ask them about that kinda stuff & styles and what to do to help you achieve what you desire.
For volume, I would have to say that the boy in the picture used some sort of gel. Once again, fibre putty or paste is good for that kind of stuff because it doesnt give you that gelled look, it makes it look as though it is natural.
A hairstyle is something that defines you and your personality, do research on it, make it perfect. But I would definitely suggest going to a local stlye salor/hair dresser for more advice. Even searching on the Internet will give you tips.
Goodluck :)

Wow, thanks alot.
My hair isn't curly really, just before when I had it pretty long it curled at the back and a little bit on the sides and looked pretty stupid.
Also, I already have wax as I have a mowheaken at the minute, if wax will work alright?
And how does he get his hair looking so soft even though it's thaat long also? :P Is that just down to the shampoo?
Thankyou, I have +repped :).

Ok, well my hair is kind of like that. I have naturally thick and messy hair so it works out really good if I want a certain style. I think that he may have naturally messy hair. Im sure wax will work out good. You will have to mess it up yourself with your hands for that look.
If it is really soft etc, he probably uses some sort of conditioner. But it depends what you like and how if effects your hair. You will probably have to experiment to see what is best for you. Dont give up or get frustrated if things dont work, just keep trying and your hair will soon agree :)
Remember, all hair is different and reacts differently.

You're best bet would to go to your hairdressers with a picture or tell them exactly what you want. They will know your hair better than anyone and what it's capable of doing so if you wont be able to pull it off well they should tell you then to save your self some embaressment.

Hmm, i dont really know all too much about hair. There probably is. For that style i dont think you need to have thick hair. Im positive that going to a salon with a picture would be your best bet.

He probably uses leave in conditioner that calms down any curl but it stays soft. I do like that haircut.
yeah i like boys with hair like that. First off i'd let it grow but as it's growing style it like his so it will grow into that, i think that's what my brother did with his style and it worked you might need to use somethign to start with, with the whole curly thing how curly is it? you could discuise it with like "messy" look if it wasn't that bad if not just mildly run straightners through it!
Hope that sorta helped you - i am no expert on male hair growing ;P
It looks like the guy in the picture has maybe straightened his hair a bit and then back combed it a lot for the volume. It looks alright but it will be hard to keep on top of every day
