So I am sure that at school, home, and in advertisements you see and hear things about nutrition and being healthy. In my life I think that being healthy is vital, along with eating the right things and nutrition. You would be surprised to how many people dont care about nutrition and what they eat.

Being a teen, it can be hard to eat properly and get all the vital nutrients you need. It is sometimes gross to see what people eat and buy at school. Nowadays the cheap, good tasting food is crappy for you, hence more people buy it due to taste and enjoyment. For example, if you have a meal at McDonalds you will usually become hungry around 1-2 hours after. But if you have a home made dinner, say pasta and vegtables, you wont be hungry for a while. It is just disgusting that people dont care about others and put nasty products in food just to make it taste better.

Your body is dependent on the natural flow of nutrients and vitamins. If you dont get enough it can lead to minor things, even major problems. If you have ever wondered why you are randomly getting headaches it is usually due to lack of nutrients or you are dehydrated. If you eat a decent meal 4 - 6 times a day you will feel physically & emotionally better.

Sorry about this article, I was just watching a show about eating and well being. If you have any questions feel free to ask me.

I hope you all realize the side effects of not eating right and I hope you all enjoy the comfort of being healthy :)

Hello Friends.....

For a balanced and nutritious diet, it is recommended to cut down on red meat consumption. Also, consumption of dairy foods, desserts, refined foods, tea, coffee, alcohol, and all types of oil except olive oil should be kept to a minimum. Olive oil is a powerful anti oxidant, which we take daily within our diets.
Most people do not get enough vegetable proteins. These can be great for your health, and eating such foods as whole grains, lentils, beans, nuts, fresh vegetables and fruits, or soy based products is highly recommended. In addition, you need to pay careful mind to your daily mineral intake. Vitamins and minerals help your body operate on a more sound schedule, and a lack of these precious materials can really show in your health and well-being.

Thanks

I agree that being healthy is vital at this stage in life as it could easily deteriorate in later life.

I do eat my 5 a day or near enough everyday, I find most fruit and vegetables nurishing and enjoying to eat, the tastes are magnificent and they are healthy.

I don't see how people can say 'Oh I don't like fruit' so they don't like Oranges? But they could drink Orange juice to get the basic nutrition they need.

hmm i like fruit & vegetables but i don't eat them religously everyday. you can't just live live thinking about what your next healthy meal is going to be lol, food is to enjoy not to get stressed over. if you keep thinking like this you will become paranoid or something

& for anyone wondering, i'm not overweight, my BMI is 23.1 & i'm 15 years old

my bmi is 19 I think.
My diet is pretty balanced and I usually manage to have my 5 a day as well
I pretty much watch my weight and exercise regularly, so I don't have to worry about being over weight or anything...

i don't eat them religiously, if they are there and I feel peckish i'll have something.

I'm 16 and only 5 foot, and i'm almost underweight. My wrists are just like a chicken drumstick seriously. But I stuff my face, if I'm honest. I love chips, crisps, fizzy pop the works. But I still don't put on weight.

I guess it's worth pointing out most of the foodstuffs you recommended contain phytates bind to minerals? Fructose from fruit damages the liver, elevates triglyceride levels, increases fat storage and that olive oil is not good for cooking due to its instability under heat? Not to mention you can only overdose on iron from vegetable sources or synthetic iron, as iron found in animals products is heme iron - easily excreted by the body. There is so much wrong with what you have said but I can't be bothered to go into all the details, merely some of the main points. Obviously your diet is very high carb, obviously this is a major problem which I won't go into. Furthermore, your diet is high in excess o-6 linoleic acid, wheat and gluten and fibre. All not good to have. Anyone who doesn't love living in ignorance and realises that when a 6 month old is obese, when a malnourished third world child is obese, when teenagers are being put on statins, when pharmaceutical companies are making more than ever and when the AHA will only fund studies that prove the dead lipid hypothesis and not those that will refute it (the ones that set out ot prove it usually refute it, fail, are poorly controlled or are tampered with much like the global warming evidence) that something is horribly wrong. Again I know that people don't want to be told everything they think they know is wrong and will become completely irrational but there you go.
