BBC presenter Kristian Digby was found dead in his apartment yesterday - after a suspected solo sex game went wrong.




The To Buy Or Not To Buy host, 32, is thought to have suffocated while starving himself of oxygen for a thrill.

Police officially described his death as "unexplained" - but detectives do not think it was suicide.

A source said last night: "At this time we believe he died from auto-erotic asphyxiation."

Kristian had helped create the home in Stratford, East London, as part of BBC1 show To Build Or Not To Build in 2008.
The gay star's body was discovered shortly before 7.45am.

A Met Police spokesman said: "The man was pronounced dead at the scene, family have been informed. Officers are investigating."
A post mortem will be held today.

Toxicology tests will be carried out to check for drugs.
Erotic asphyxiation refers to intentionally cutting off oxygen to the brain for sexual arousal.

INXS singer Michael Hutchence, 37, may have died from auto-erotic asphyxiation in 1997 - although suicide was the official cause of death.

Last night Kristian's agent Jo Wander said: "I am devastated by the loss. He was a lovely guy and a very talented presenter."

Neighbours told how the charismatic star brought the community together.
Steve Fletcher said: "He set up a residents' association and got people together in a way no one had before.

"He planted trees by the street and tidied up. Everyone wanted to be his friend."

Kristian, who hailed from Torquay, Devon, started hosting To Buy Or Not To Buy with pal Dominic Littlewood in 2003.


He directed Fantasy Rooms, and was a presenter on Holiday, Living In The Sun and That Gay Show.

Last night the BBC said in a statement: "Kristian was a much-loved and talented presenter.

"He brought a real sense of energy and warmth to all the shows. Our thoughts are with his family."

I've heard a lot about this, it wouldn't be his boyfriend doing it, because, I believe he was single, but he was doing the male thing which I think is filtered, and he was strangling himself, which is what erotic asphyxiation is. (after a bit of googling)

However, the sun seems to be the only paper publishing about this supposed erotic thing, however, radio stations and let's say, more trustworthy sources are stating that the police are investigating and nobody is sure what it was.

I'm not too sure, but surely, as soon as the body realised it was killing itself off, subconciously it would let go...

God knows, but it's very sad. :(

Yes, autoerotic asphyxiation is a sex act where pressure is put on the neck to starve the body of oxygen and to increase ******. This is usually done either solo or with a partner. Deaths have occured when someone's partner has accidentally strangled them to death with their bare hands, or failed to closely inspect a noose tied around the neck, simulating a hanging. In this guy's case, he probably did it to himself and, with the extreme danger of the act, fell unconscious and died, or slipped and broke his neck.

During my 7 month tenure as a forensic photographer, I had to deal with two of these, both victims of solo autoerotic asphyxiation. Bodies are often either strangled by a cord or wrapped up in cling film or a restrictive material for example, with a makeshift tube for breathing.

Well I certainly hope not. When I was ill I watched him doing some property programmes filmed abroad and a show which showed him buying a property and remodelling/refurbing it entirely to his own taste. It was amazing! If he died of what has been reported then it will be shameful if they say that it's because he gay because, whilst not common, it has happened to as many straight as gay men.
