If you give it in now it won't matter?! You just have to get it signed off, theres no time limit on it. D:

yeah they really are, you could send it yourself to your 'borough leader', damnnn id really get talking to them, i think its that they cant be arsed. Me and my mates in my group all given ours in at different times, we all got them back at different times. if you've done it, you can get it signed off.
Have you got everything signed off by the youth club (im assuming) where you did it?

Yeah you can, if you volunteer somewhere else you can just carry on what you did but under a different place, it really wont matter. Mind you, you'd need to get your school to sign off your service (volunteering) still.
Please sign it off I'm begging you or I'll cry.

Trust me, I have cried over Duke of Edinburgh. You will too if you do your gold expedition lol. You can't go up to someone and say can you fake this, but I guess.. idk, its your choice you probably could forge it or say that you finished at this time with no updated signatures and just sign it yourself. Nobody would care, as long as you have something there and well you did do the volunteering part. Why didn't you finish it all?

Yeahh, spesh when its like 10 people in a 3 man tent, now THAT is fun. I think I'd do it again just for that lol. the walking i loved too, but im weird like that. Im doing a 15 day hike in canada so I get to do all of it again.. oh and a 4 day PRACTICE (which is insane, thats the gold real expedition tbh lol).

Bad times, one of the schools around here had that problem. I was told I could've replaced him but... not a good idea, I'm not that good x]

lol.... There are two award ceremonies each year. The winter one is at St James' palace and the summer one is at Buckingham Palace. I think there are seperate ceremonies for the north/south so you should be going to one in London.
We were seperated into four rooms inside the palace and there was a celebrity for each room (we had that charlie guy who rode the motorbike accross Africa with Ewan McGreggor) then basically you get the certificate from them and a member of the royal family (I had price Edward) talks to you and congratulates you in groups of like 10 people. Was actually more personal than I expected.

By the time I finish my gold I'll probably be in Edinburgh so I might be having mine at Edinburgh castle? correct me if I'm wrong. :P But thats awesomeeee, I guess they must take it really seriously. Its a shame some councils dont support it as much as they should.

If I was to jump in at gold award, roughly what would I have to do to get it (I understand it'd take 2 years but i'm okay with that).

You need a service (helping the community in some way), a skill (learn an instrument or something), a sport (couple hours a week, need to make an effort) and then you do training weekends and like a week long expedition "on your own" (just you and whoever you're doing it with).
I was going to do gold but only really cause I wanted it for my uni application. Then I realised that having not done silver, I'd be doing 18 months of services, skills etc so by the time I actually got the award I'd have long since applied. Also when doing it through our school they charge you major $$$. It is an excellent thing to have on a CV though, allegedly the things employers value most in terms of extra curricular stuff.

Service is easy, if you have to go to some sort of training/meeting for your expeditions then just offer to help 'train' people doing bronze/ silver.

A few of my mates did "paper recycling" for their service. They just collected paper bins from about the school and emptied them into a larger bin once a week lol. That was for silver but I doubt it's any stricter with gold.

Yes, but to me that makes me think it's not much of a an award. In my eyes an award is something completely free, that you get for something you've done, like my Diana award.

If a little bit of cash is all that's stopping you, I would recommend going for it. I really regret not doing D of E myself.
