Just logged on to see what happened after the e-cool riots on good ol' habbo hotel, and I think the thing about credit charge is stupid.

Can somebody explain how they can possibly PROMISE us, that reducing credit costs is reasonable, and was NEEDED?

I mean come off it - 11 year olds might be stupid - but not all of us are :l

I too wonder how it was needed but then someone in another thread said sulake is £11m in debt :S I may email them and ask them but the USA article for this says it's needed oo which therefore means that it wasn't 'needed' for just our hotel so maybe this debt thing could be true.

They are probably just now feeling the affects of adding the habbo exchange, back in the old days the only way to circulate credits was to buy, now the same credits can stay in circulation.

Oh my god, I can't believe they've done this.

First the coins as present disable feature PURELY to exploit the desire of people to earn badges to make more C's.

Second, the ever decreasing monthly offer in virtual terms alongside a real monetary increase, with the discard of recolours for just HC subscription with existing, pitiful rare's.

Thirdly, the commission/tax on trading goods via the market.

And now fourthly, a TAX on buying tangible (pixel-wise) currency to trade direct in the hotel! Will only encourage more SMS code scams etc, and another 'necessary' feature PURELY for their own profitable grain.

On a downward slop since the start this hotel, watch the Throne and other past loved rare's be released this year without remorse or care for community opinions. All this done under a pseudo-democratic façade of 'polls' and past 'councils' that seeks to cover the underlying pure exploitation of under-age consumerists from their parents or own cash.

Won't be surprised to see an increase people leaving after this, let alone the increase in black markets for the direct purchase of super rares and rares via other on-line methods outside of the hotel, skipping Habbo as the middleman between people who spend money on C's and their furniture wants.

Sulake is a corporation aimed at making money, the new feature of the marketplace involved developers, employing such people costs ... you guess it - money! They want to charge money for people to use this feature, and people will absolutely without a doubt pay the money.. so all the power to them. If Sulake was a non-profit organization I would completely side with you, however, they aren't. Millions of teens will continue to log on and spend money on Habbo Hotel, including yourself. And as for the increase in people leaving, there will be more coming then going I can assure you.

Sure Sulake has to make money, and so incentives to increase the in-flow are ultimately win-win for them.

However, a company also has to apply some customer satisfaction, this move, on top of disorganised competitions over the last few months, where many have gotten their badges or furniture they worked hard to win, signifies the overall lack of care Sulake applies to its userbase.

And as we've seen recently with the growth of fansite forums even more, this community has a voice, and it pays to listen to that voice. I've been on this hotel years, sure I'm not going to leave due to this, but people will, and maybe so their seats will be filled with eager noobs, but newer registrants are far less likely to shell out money than those who are already entrenched into the game.

Put that alongside the fact that for a business that employs relatively few people, uses mainly virtual assets and a small square feet of office space, employs young professionals in their 20s who often work for a standard wage, especially in IT careers such as these, Sulake is making a profit sure, but not to the extent that it should be doing, but instead of turning to it's most successful endeavour and handicapping its users again, it should scrap IRC-Galleria (http://ramine.net/2009/03/31/sulake-has-a-problem/) which is the real problem and source the over-expenditure issues.
