Hey,
Just an idea. Habboxforum could probably make some additional money by selling the top left bit to people.
Just an idea :). Obviously it will be in same font as "Welcome, Saurav User CP" etc so it looks neater.
Should be possible to add text there by editing the skin slightly.

I'm not so sure. I think it would look a bit tacky and out of place.

Ultimately this is a business decision therefore rests with Jin, I don't think it'd look too good so it depends on how much money it would make as to whether it'd be beneficial.
We need to get the normal ads back too, but they are only gone temporarily.

I know it looks crap in the screenshot cos of the ugly huge font, but with the normal one, it would look fine.
Its just an idea for additional money, thats all.

Yeah I did think that when I looked at it it would look a little better in the same sized font as the user options, however I suppose it all depends on what revenue it could bring in.

This is how it would actually look.

That does look a lot better :)
Out of interest, how much would someone pay to advertise their site in a little area like that on something like Habbox Forum?

That's a nice idea however I'm not sure how popular it'd be, there was a "do you want to advertise here?" thing on the old forum for ages and it was always google ads so I don't think anyone took it up.

i'm sorry, but i don't look up there, i doubt many people would buy that top right corner.

Depends who habboxforum sell it to - to its members or to outsiders. If outsiders then it depends on Google PageRank on its toolbar, Uniques and Pageviews - lower the PR, lower you get for it.
If to members, then well it just depends what they are willing to pay. I would guess about £20 a month tbh as the audience is limited and the members arent exactly all rich.

Mainly because when I asked sierk, the quote he gave me was something crazy like £250-£500 per month.

Still, £20 a month is £240 a year which we could no doubt do with :p but yeah I guess it would depend on popularity, see what Jin says.

Indeed. If they dont find a buyer for a month then thats fine. If they do then great, extra income.
Seeing so many people sell hosting, I am sure someone will pay for the spot.
Another spot they could sell is at the bottom above the Skin chooser. They can easily sell that to outsiders for cheap and get $10 per link. - Put 5 link there next to each other in a rounded box.
Great thing about the bottom is that it doesn't really affect members and people do buy it.

If you put a marquee there I think you'd generated alot more, not like a normal left-to-right marquee but a marquee that rolls down like credits, pausing a while on each one. I also think the user bar at the top should stay at the top even when cycling down on the forum, that'd be an awesome thing to have, plus it'd promote advertising alot more.

If its a static fixed one link, you would get more money than the credits type.
And honestly, I would really hate to have the userbar at the top to be at the top permanently.

Wow! That would explain that then :P Yeah go for it then sounds like a good idea :)

Beat me to it Saurav :P
Yeh when we gave the option the quote was mental. Someone I talked to asked and was quoted £300 a month - £10 a day is a nono :P

I say if it generates any revenue at all, then Habbox is being foolish just by not doing it. It's barely noticeable to the average member which is a win win as long as it's bringing money in. [enter Tesco slogan here] :)

Yeah, its at the top and most people usually look at the posts, so it doesn't really affect the members that much.
Maybe give me a 10% share of the revenue as I suggested this idea. (H) haha.
