I think this might help new users. Just a little edit above the edit signature thing like below.

I agree the images look tacky, but text on its own will look better

Maybe a different colour as not to look silly against the PM message if that popped up too, maybe a reddy shade but not too authoritarian red.

Green might look nice too if its possible. Try various colours and see which fits best :)

Colours I have prebuilt (for my alert bars at the top) are Purple, Orange, Blue, Red, Green

Orange or red, purple would look out of place and blue and green are already used

I thin Green might look nicer with the Site Style.

Edit: If green is already used then red or purple like Oli said. Purple might look nice, depending on the shade etc.

Well how often do you edit your signature? :P Most will only see it once a week.

I could make it only visible to the Newly Registered usergroup/ bronze members

I think that's an excellent idea. +rep when I can. =] I also cannot see why members are complaining about it as Saurav says how often so you actually edit it? It's only a piece of text :S How annoying that be. I also agree that I would say the majority of signature violations are not from new members.

I have seen so many existing member break the rules, I think its them who need it the most. They obviously haven't bothered reading the signature rules.

They know the rules, they just choose to ignore them, generally. If it is visible only to newly registered / bronze members, then it should clear up most issues. I wouldn't want it showing permanently. If they choose to ignore that warning when they are newly registered, then it's their problem :P. I think we'll implement it, but only for new / bronze members.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Orange would be the best colour, it's a warning colour. Green means go ahead, red means stop, meaning you've broke the rules.

I don't think it really matters how it looks because it's a fairly small thing that will rarely be seen anyway, as people said. It's a very good idea though which I think I'd find useful as it's sometimes really fiddly trying to search through the FAQs.

Thanks but how often do most new members change their signatures? Once a week? Lets say twice, but still, they see it for a few minutes and thats it. No harm in leaving it there permanently?
It can be of assistance to old members too when or if the rules ever change or if they can't remember it. Just makes life easier.

I think everybody will see it, most people in ACP are in all their usergroups, they just get added to the next one in the promotion system, not removed, I think.

Yeah thats usually how it goes when you get promoted, the one you were in before sticks but you also get the other one you've just gone into. I don't think it will do any harm for most people to be fair.

I'm guessing since I was never a 'bronze member' I won't get it. Yay :P

In which case, might aswell remove the if conditions around the warning.
