Good to see this section is still going. Although I can remember only 3 people of this section... Neversoft, Niamh & Paul.
:D (It's Joshuae btw.)

Hm, so the million dollar question - What's some good anime to watch? Gone off Naruto & Bleach. I fancy rewatching Utawarerumono but I'm looking for an anime aswell...

It appeared to have 'lightsabers' in it? Then there was some fight in a snowed over woodland area. :) Anyone know it's name? Used to air on Toonami.

A very good anime, please don't let Chris put you off when he comes in here and starts flaming it.

Dunno if it'll be your thing though, as by the looks of it you've only watched mainstream shounen fighting sort of animes like Naruto and Bleach... may you want to try One Piece or D.gray-man, or possibly Claymore? Bare in mind that D.gray-man and Claymore end badly (as an anime series, not as a whole).

Also, not heard of any animes with Lightsabers, closest I've to that is Ishida's seele schneider in Bleach.

Lol, Josh is welcomed back with disappointment. :P Whats to dislike about One Piece though? I watched the sixth film and it was awesome.

Just not my cup of tea. I'm not saying it's bad. Just not for me...

I mean I've seen some AWESOME episodes with these big bad-ass shark guys, but the guy with the huge nose and gay guy annoy the crap out of me.

Its not. Annoys me the amount of hate OP gets but people will watch bleach and Naruto.. fact you said you hate it.

Exactly it is awesome. was tempted to buy the movie program for that last night. You going to give strong world a go when its out?

edit: seen your post

well fact that youve seen some of it changes it. if you hadnt and just said you hated it thats what i dislike.

And whats wrong with usopp? hes awesome all the characters become more awesome as the story goes on. his cowardly ness makes a lot of good funny scenes. and gay guy im guessing you taling about Bon clay.

Tenbeta

The blonde one in the suit is the gay one haha. Usopp annoys me.

Loved the Shark dude fights though. Although I did try watching the first few episodes and I couldn't get into it.

Southe,

Sanjis not gay! how can he be when hes constantly trying to chat up Nami/Robin D:

And yea the arlong arc is good. The cd set ive ordered comes with a speedup ova for all 400+ eps so hopping it gets subbed and people can watch it. See how awesome it gets in later parts. and people won't be able to complain about the length.

Also out of curiousity.. did you watch it sub or dub?

Tenbeta
12-03-2010, 12:13 PM
Both. Switched between haha.

Southe,
12-03-2010, 01:59 PM
and people wonder why i get annoyed when people say one piece is rubbish.

You probably watched the4kids version.. cutting out everything good about it. Music, good voice acting, violence, jokes, and adding puns for 2 year olds, cutting out arcs..

Thats probably why..

Tenbeta

I watched the first 5 episodes in subs & dubs. I also read the mangas first volume on Onemanga :P

Will be having a lot more time for anime & manga after I finish Smallville, 24 & Exams. :) Will check it out then.

Southe,
12-03-2010, 02:54 PM
Good. If you want to watch it dubbed then watch the Funimation Dub. Manga is a must aswell. Oda is awesome and likes adding funny things in like pandaman.

And i hate banks.

I am. :) When is the expected DVD release date?

Southe,
12-03-2010, 07:18 PM
Don't even know :( think its just left the cinemas due to the popularity of it. Sold more than Ponyo :D but im guessing June.

And my bros Gf is half japanese. and loves rubbing it in that she goes to japan. and says One Piece is rubbish. Love rubbing stuff like this to all the nay sayers.

The 57th volume of Eiichiro Oda (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=4639)'s One Piece (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/manga.php?id=1223) pirate manga sold 1,690,932 copies in its first week of sales — a new record in first-week sales for any book sold in Japan. The 57th volume's sales topped the previous record-holder, the 56th volume's 1,363,868 copies which were sold (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-12-09/japanese-comic-ranking-november-30-december-6) in the first week of December. Shueisha (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=909) printed (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-02-12/one-piece-no.57-manga-gets-record-3-million-print-run) a record 3 million copies of the 57th volume, which is more than any book (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-03-10/japanese-comic-ranking-march-1-7#) ever had in its first printing in Japan.

And to rub in some more

During a Thursday meeting, the Kumamoto Prefectural Assembly in southwestern Japan discussed a plan to erect a pirate ship from the One Piece (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=836) anime series at a city park. A citizens' group has been pushing a plan to erect a replica of the manga's Going Merry (Merry Go in English) ship at Karashima Park in the prefectural capital of Kumamoto City — the birthplace of One Piece's creator, Eiichiro Oda (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=4639).

Assembly Member Seiichi Nishi asserted that the plan will stimulate the local economy. Kumamoto Governor Ikuo Kabashima expressed his approval of the plan and his willingness to explore ways that the prefectural government can support the civic group's "dream." The local TKU television station noted (http://www.tku.co.jp/pc/news/view_news.php?id=20311&mod=3000) in its news (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-03-11/prefecture-considers-building-one-piece-ship-in-park#) coverage of the assembly meeting that it airs the One Piece anime every Saturday. It also noted that the most recent volume of Oda's original manga set (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-02-12/one-piece-no.57-manga-gets-record-3-million-print-run) a Japanese record on March 4 with a first printing of 3 million copies — topping Harry Potter. 185.6 million copies of the manga have been sold (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2010-03-03/japanese-comic-ranking-february-22-28) so far.
