Ok, so last year my best mate and a good friend of mine went out. They were going out for like a year, then broke up. The whole break up caused a massive arguement within our friendship group, causing people to take sides and stuff.

I stuck with my best mate, and it was all fine, there were a few of us. Got a long. Then me and my best mate decided that the people we were mates with are complete and utter back stabbers, and talk behind your back, so we started talking to his ex girlfriend and our other old mates. After a week of talking, they are going back out. And I'm good mates with the girl again, we are really good mates, best mates you could say.

Now, I login tonight, and they both are at me, saying they've broke up. And I can't be bothered with the whole friendship breakup again. I've already talked to one mate, and he's said the same thing.

My best mate is saying he doesn't want to fall out with his now ex, but wants to stay mates, but shes saying no she wants to fall out with him. What do I do?

Best thing you can do really is just leave them to sort it out for themselves, and sit on the fence basically untill it all eventually blows over.

Yeah, if I were you I'd just stay out of it.

I know you probably want to help because they're both close friends of yours but they need to sort this out between themselves instead of bringing you into it.

Tell them how it's making you feel and that you'd rather not be involved because things will just get messy if either one of them starts thinking you're taking sides.

Thanks. I was thinking of saying to them "I don't want to take sides, but if you want help, I'll offer it you" but i'm actually thinking against that and just saying "i dont want anything to do with it". :/

But anyway, she's not going into school for the rest of the week. Saying that, it's just another attention seeking jab I reckon.

Yeah mate just ignore them tbh, or if they really get annoying just shout at them and say you don't wanna be in the middle cuz it's not fair. I sympathize how annoying it is, but you gotta just draw a line and say enough.

agreed with the above, just stay out of it. she looks like quite the attention seeker and its honestly not your problem at all, its theirs. they choose what they want to do. they shouldn't be dragging you into their issues. if they are, they aren't very good friends! :) good luck

Best to let them solve their own issues :)

I haven't said anything to them about it, but the girl went to school today. She took me out of 2 of my lessons and started telling me loads of stuff that my best mate had said. And I didn't reply, I just let her talk then told her to go to POD (head of year department area). She was talking to my best mate though, and they are on talking terms, but she has slit her wrists, stupidly... and keeps telling me that she can't be assed with ewt. I just aint replying and leaving it for her to sort out.

OMG , now i know why your a news reporter.. hehe i use to be one,

Anyways best thing I think you can do it. Make them talk it out with each other, remind them that you do not want to choose sides, and they must talk it out. Like my teacher at school saying worse thing in the world is communication, So make them talk it out, and if it helps be there with them while they talk it out. Hope it helps :) good luck ,
