Okay as you may know my pc decided to kill itself in november and i havent had any luck since so i decided for my birthday (in july) im going to use all my money to buy a new pc.

All i want is a list of parts which are optimised for speed/coolness (temperature) and quietness.

i have around £400 to spend (when the time comes that is)

I only need the tower.

If you could please list in the order e.g.

Tower - (link here) - (Price here)
Motherboard - (link here) - (price here)

You get what i mean.

Thanks for the help - in advance

Case + PSU - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/135101 - 57.99
Motherboard - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/191059 - 77.44
GPU - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173708 - 61.93
HDD - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/173804 - 63.90
RAM - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/178943 - 83.30
ODD - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/145450 - 14.99
CPU - http://www.ebuyer.com/product/166519 - 52.03

Comes to £411, should be fairly quiet, I think, but if you can stretch to more, fit silent case fans and a silent CPU cooler

Thats an AM2+, so I think it'd need a new motherboard and therefore new RAM too. I'm a bit unsure on that, so I'd let someone who knows a bit more than me find it.

I think http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159073 would do for a motherboard, and as for RAM, you'd need DDR2, so you'd use something like http://www.ebuyer.com/product/148859

I think these should be OK.

Seeing as you might have a bit extra with not having to buy a CPU, look at specifically designed quiet cases. Perhaps something like this one: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/167439 would do, as it also comes with a PSU.

So, internet browsing, iTunes and movie converting?

Use the GPU, HDD and ODD from my first post, and the Mobo, RAM, Case and PSU from my 2nd post, and you'll have a half decent system.

Silly answer to my question..

People use pc's for:

Animating
Graphics
Fighting
Airports
Gaming
Hospitals

Now yu see that really didn't answer my question :P Basically are you using it for aming, or just movie converting and media? E.G. Do you want a media and home entertainment pc? :P
