Like yeh, we know we get infractions because we get a pm and it is shown in the usercp, however for usernotes we never get to see :L Like moderators could be posting "This user is a ****, ignore them and infract at first possible moment!" So why can't we see usernotes just like how we see infractions, obviously just our ones and not being able to edit. Wouldn't it just make alot more sense as whenever I ask mod's the exact details of my usernotes they kinda beat round the bush.

Would it really be that comforting to know? They're notes, they don't work the same way as infractions. The only blather they will contain is "This user has a drinking problem so therefore might get a bit nippy when in the forums".

its been brought up numerous times. They aren't anything interesting and its just notes as you said. I highly doubt it says "blinger in an *******" or something like that =/

And i'm sure there would be stuff like "be careful because Mr. X and Mr. Y have a lot of arguments/target each other"

Probably because if we did we would be fired. All usernotes are just copies of pm's that you have anyway so you could always save them to a folder if you receive them. =]

Usernotes are a record for moderation staff and you don't need to see them, you are aware of what is in your usernotes as it is only the content of the PM you recieve. The reason we post copies of these PMs in usernotes is so we can track how many times a user has been contacted by a moderator, it's for use of moderators only so you don't need to see them.

I trust you there are no abusive comments left on usernotes, as this would be highly unprofessional and of course notes are checked.

Check your inbox, you will find a copy of every PM sent to you which was usernoted.

If we are going to send them to you we may as well let you view them? Which isn't necessary as I have said.

If you deleted the PMs from moderators then I'm afraid that is the only copy you get. Moderators are happy to reveal amounts of usernotes, but it is not their jobs to reveal the content of your usernotes to you.

User notes are private and only there to help the rule enforcers make decisions. If you dont want any user notes on your account then dont get in trouble. There may be one or two notes that say XXXXXXXXX is a total XXXXXXXX with reasons why unless all the ones I ever made have now been removed ;)

Well I haven't seen any of yours so maybe they have! Nowadays they are used as a record to do as you say, help the enforcers make decisions, but nowadays they tend to be copies of PMs rather than subjective notes.

Occasionally usernotes aren't just records of PMs, they also contain little bits of information for the (Super) Moderators and Administrators to take note of when they are dealing with all manner of issues. They are private, and will remain so. All other usernotes you have will have been sent to you at some point in the form of a PM.

Either someone wiped all my usernotes or everyones usernotes was deleted at some point after 2006 - because all the ones I made on my own account have disappeared.

^^ I think the less offense and old ones did get removed around some point in 2007 actually as I can recall there being quite a large forum clean up.

I don't see how this matters to be honest. It's a usernote. It's not your police record. You need to take a chill pill there mister!! ;D

Yeah I would like to see this considering I apparently had one saying I was being a snubby moderator (when I told someone not to bump)

Like it has been said, check your inbox, that's all that's there generally. Anything else is for private use of moderation staff.

I asked a moderator to tell me how many user notes I have, was rather helpful. I don't see any harm in disclosing the amount of times you've done a certain offense since its not actually disclosing the personalised content for each member? Not everyone has the spare time to count all their PM's, and even then I delete mine when I can.

I bet my usernotes have a personalised paragraph or two in each one LOL.

If we could see our user-notes, then I really wouldn't understand the difference between them and warnings/infractions.
