Habbo ID Is Coming

News on some important changes to the way you log in to your Habbo account.
You've probably noticed we've been making changes in how you sign in and register an account in Habbo. The biggest change of all for the accounts is coming this week.
Starting on Tuesday 23rd March, every Habbo will get a new Habbo ID, where your username is your email address, and not your Habbo character name. If you're already using Facebook, Google or Twitter account with Habbo, you don't need to do anything about this, but if you're still signing in with your Habbo name, there are small changes ahead.
Why do this?
Pretty simple! We want to make signing into Habbo more convenient, make it easier to remember one's account name and improve Habbo's security.
The change is only being made when you log in to Habbo and your account name will appear as normal when inside the Hotel.
How does it work?
When the change comes, we'll automatically create your Habbo ID in case your email address is activated. If you haven't activated your email, we'll ask some registration details from you, after which you must activate your email address.
You don't need to worry about the specific details of how this will work. We'll let you know on your first sign in after the Habbo ID is out. If you can, please make sure your email address is activated by resending your activiation email on this page, or link your account to Facebook or Google by clicking on the service's logo on the Habbo front page.
If you haven't verified your email due to accidentally entering a wrong birth date when originally signing up to Habbo, don't worry. We'll allow you a onetime chance to change the birth date to your real birth date when you're creating the Habbo ID.

Basically you log into habbo using your email address not your habbo name. When your in-game your username will be there not your email

I'm so confused to how this is gonna work if you have multiple accounts, which most people do. I'm guessing you'll need a different email for each account, or just loads of accounts on the same email which would make it less sercure? if you got hacked then they basically can get all of your accounts, so i don't think it will be like that tbh. Probaly different email for each account. Or maybe only allowed 1 account? that would be hell, i doubt it though, wouldn't suprise me if they have a maximum number of accounts per IP, unless they already do which is probs like 100? cause i got loads :P anyway i'm starting to confuse myself now, god knows why habbo are doing this, can't see what good its gonna do.

Looks like 1 account to one email, and most likely it'll be the first account you registered your email with. I can see how it helps them... But in a way makes a few problems.

Excellent point. Although most people get hacked throught their emails (idiots if you ask me), this makes it safer for people who don't give out their email addresses.

No, they need to know your Email Address and Password, as opposed to your Username and Password, surely that is more secure? Anyone on habbo can see your Username, not everyone (or anyone) will know your email address.

The two main reasons I think they are doing this..

Every social network service uses an email to login, not a username lol

Harder to login to other peoples accounts if you don't share you're email address

That is very poor indeed. It will increase hacking not stop it.

When i logged into another account i had a list of like 30 accounts lol. When i try to login to Dinasaw it doesn't give me an ID thing i just get some error with the google logo :S

Currently, you can not change your Habbo ID (email address). We are looking into this asap, but for now you can also log in using your Habbo name as normal.

Not as bad as a thought, great if you want to access all you accounts. Also great if you want ALL of your accounts hacked instead of just one. Just create an email for your habbo and dont tell anyone, simple. Still wont stop pro hackers though. I'm assuming all the accounts linked to that email address will automatically have trading pass. Also stops signing in on two different browsers im guessing, unless you use a different ID. Anyway, now i can finally get a trading pass on habbo US, not that i need it.

I'm not really gonna be happy if a load of my accounts go missing.. they really need to publish some information and guidance on what the heck you have to do..

I reckon where it says Habbo, it'll say "Google" or "Hotmail" or "Facebook". It's to remove your association with the way you signed up, if you signed up through another provider.

Well its working perfectly for me, at least it lets me see all 40 odd of my clones together
cant see how itll increase security though, cos now, if someone hacks one of your accs, then they have the rest of them aswell :S
