Turn off the mains and fire up the diesel generator to pollute the environment with precious hydrocarbons. Take that Earth.

I'll be doing whatever I want when this 'Earth Hour' is on and so should everybody else. Global Warming (we dont call it that anymore because it wasnt warming at all) Climate Change does not exist and tempertures have not risen in the past 10 years and to try to politically influence kids on a social network is totally wrong of Sulake.

If people want to do something to benefit the Earth we live on it is not your place to stop them.

It does exist, the Earth's temperature fluctuates but there's nothing we can do about it.

I agree that nothing is happening, but I do think we should be saving our resources as they are running out.

I agree, i think global warming is a load of bull. i watched a programme about it. it said that many people made it so big as it is today to open businesses and get billions. there was also a chart shown about global warming. between the years of ww2, you'd expect them to be high wouldnt you? but they were low.. it was very high at years where there were no vechiles of any sort..
so i believe, global warming is a gigantic pile of bull. Click here (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/christopherbooker/5067351/Rise-of-sea-levels-is-the-greatest-lie-ever-told.html)and here (http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=5086) to read an article which supports me

It is not my opinion that temperatures have not risen in the last 10 years, it is scientific fact.
With that fact in mind, I ask anyone who still believes it; where is this global warming?
You are so naive its unbelieveable. Just because a few people said Global Warning is crap, you believe them.

Aren't you oh so witty and ontop of the ball; temperatures haven't risen in the past 10 years so tell me where the global warming is. I mean your case would be a tad bit more believeable if the temperature had actually been rising.

I agree to an extent, oil and gas have a long life left though because;
a) many more sites exist out there that we do not yet know of.
b) many sites have been known of but have been uneconomical at the present to exploit.
c) the Falklands and the poles are just two examples of massive reserves still waiting to be explored properly.
d) we only use around 1/3 of an oil reserve because at the present it is uneconomical to get to the other 2/3.
The real reason we, as a country, need to change is because of energy security which is a big threat to the stability of the western world in the future. I and i'm sure anybody else doesnt want to be relying on the French, Russians and the Middle East for our supplies which can be turned off whenever they feel like doing so. Nuclear is the answer.

Nuclear is the answer. While I agree with you that global warming is mostly nonsense (I personally believe it's natural). I do agree with looking into renewable and nuclear energy sources though. The fact is, we are running out of coal, oil and gas. The reason it's called uneconomical to get the oil out is because it would cost so much. In 50 years time, chances are they'll still be a 1/3 of oil left, but to extract that it will cost £1000 in fuel to drive to the shops. We'll probably not run out of oil for many hundreds or thousands of years, but it will get to the point in 30-40 years time where it is far too expensive to use and not worth it. Coal will run out even quicker than that.
As for Earth Hour, I poured petrol over greenpeace supporters and set them alight.

I'm not sure which is worse though; the people at the top who lie to us about climate change or the people at the bottom who are oblivious of the facts either way and just seem proud of wasting as much energy as possible regardless.

I switched my lights on. And on wednesday my friend is staying round with a PC system. Earth Hour is kinda pointless.

Climate change, in theory exists, but not in the "temperatures will continue to rise and rise" way that is blathered around. It's fact that the air changes and mixes around, I think I read somewhere that this year cooler air was shifting down to where the warmer air usually is, and the warmer air was drift away from the usual spots (which is why Washington had extreme snowfall this year), but that's not to say it will happen each year.
