Best music scene?

As a manc i must say Madchester (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madchester), i love all the songs from that era, and adore most of the bands like The Smiths, Stone Roses, and James + Happy Mondays in particular.

In your opinion what do you think was the best music scene/era?

Do you really though Alex? You were only able to name about three Manc bands the other day :P

I am a huge fan of the same era onwards in general though. So including stuff like Madness, Oasis, Blur, Kasabian and various Liverpool bands like The Beatles, The Coral and The Zutons. Your Haçienda club is sort of the equivalent of our Cavern. Also a fan of classic rock from the States of course.

i dont know what the best music scene is, i listen to too much to really say a definitive one. but i think we can all agree 80's hair metal was the all time low of modern music, and i lived through the macarena.

80's/90's rap music scene.
NWA, tupac, snoop, biggie smalls, uno name the best rapper and i guarentee they were from the late 80s or 90's!
