I really like the idea of travelling after college rather than going straight to uni, getting some work, saving up and travelling nstead.

How much do you reccon is a decent amount to save to start doing that? Like travel america and visit a few other countries.

depends how you gunna be travelling tbh. obviously going by plane is gunna be far more than rail for example. I know thiers a package with a rail company for travellers that takes you from the uk to france, and then stopping off at different stops around france. Im not sure how much it is though!

A lot.

Some people move from country to country by any means possible. I mean if you stay in Europe you can end up in Asia (land > land) by hitch-hiking/cheap trains etc. Whilst in a country they get a job for a few weeks wherever to earn money to move on.

if your travelling america, thats going to be costly.
its not exactly cheap to get flights to america, and travelling europe its boring in my opinion.
id like to travel america and asia if i had the money.

I did this in class for a project for like 3 months. For most capitals of each well known country, it's between 8K£ to 10K£ however it depends which countrys in particular you want to join, it will be substansially less. You might want to consider hostels if you're going travelling. Hope your trip goes well.

it'll deffo cost a couple of thousand if you're planning on travelling for a couple of months. working wherever you are will help pay costs obviously, but you may need a working permit which may be difficult to get.

Me and my friend we are going travelling. We are finishing Uni then going travelling. We are going to start saving now so when we start travelling we can explore instead of having to work. But we are hoping to go for 18months. 10months exploring and 8months working. For this, we are saving alot. We will go when we are 21. This is due to some regulations in America (unsure if anywhere else) about drinking etc.

But yeah, deffo go for it!

Even if you only have £2k saved. Just go for a working holiday! Remember you need to apply for a working visa which will cost around £100 to £150.

Camp America :) It's voluntary but apparently it is a great experience.

Look around the internet for an idea on prices
