Well my cousin who lives in Russia, was originally going to the Czech Republic to study at Uni. He went for like a little taster for a few months, then he would of had an exam and then he would of went to uni if he passed the exam. So his rich parents (I'm not afraid to use the word rich because they are both business people, especially my uncle he owns this pipe company thing) anyway, thats not the point. They bought him a house (well not bought started to build) and spent $60,000 on it.

Then my cousin messes up the exam, doesnt score enough and they decide to send him to us in the UK to study at Salford University. So he does, hes been here for a few months now studying Business & when he checks his mail-box it says that even though he didnt score enough points in the exam in Czech Republic, they still would of let him come into the Uni! So obviously he was devasted because lots of his friends were going to that Uni so that means the half finished house is still there.. his parents try tell the workers they want to stop the building and so they do, but obviously, they dont get their cash back!

THATS $60,000 WASTED! WHICH IS 40,254.95 British pounds sterling! I mean, common I know its not mine but wasting money like that is ridiculous! I was shocked that they didnt give a crap. I mean, they dont send us any money while my mum has to cook for him, wash his clothes etc. My mum doesnt get a penny. She has her own 3 kids and a husband to look after and now we have him! I'm just in fury tbh, I dont know why but the fact they wasted cash like that is just shocking.

Well considering as you described the parents as 'rich business people' I'll dismiss the house issue as they obviously don't care about it

But the fact that he's now living with you & your family & living off your mum without getting a penny, I can see why you are angry!

To say his parents spent so much on that house (to let it go to nothing which they don't seem fussed about), without your parents getting any money from his parents to look after him is a bit outrageous. Is your Mum not doing anything about it?

Exactly what I think. There are people in the world that need that money. People are dying because they cant get that money and they just throw it away.

No because its not from the side of my mums family, my dads and if my mum says anything then itll all be like "OMG LOOK AT THEM, WE ASK THEM TO LOOK AFTER OUR SON FOR 3 YEARS AND SHES MAKING A FUSS OVER IT" and my mums not that sort of person so yano

well even though they're taking the liberty, surely your parents should be a tad more assertive if you/they feel that you lot are being taken advantage of or not receiving what you lot deserve.

Seriously though, why are you named after Stalin? He's as bad as Hitler.

he might believe in his beliefs?
as hard as it is to believe, people still believe in hitlers beliefs you know?

anyway, yeah thats disgusting how they can just let 40 grand go to waste? even if i was rich, i like money too much to waste 40K.

It's sickening when people waste that sort of money, considering how many good causes could be helped with that money.

This story sounds familiar :S But I'd be annoyed too, if they cancel something that costs alot when they could easily send money over to help with his accomodation. :/

Yeh, but now its changed so I added the part when they wasted 40k

I quite like Stalin. He wasn't as bad as Hitler. Yes, he was a bad man, but there are other sides too. He defeated Germany.. that enough said tbh. Plus if we didnt have Stalin in that time, Russia wouldn't of been where it is today.

Yeah, I mean like I said, in some countries that can get you 5 people assassinated lol

I said it then and I'll say it again but your mum's a pushover for letting them walk all over her. :)

As for wasting money, if they're rich, it's like pocket money to them so they can fling it all away. The rich don't give a toss about the working class. Maybe they could go on that Secret Millionaire show and come to your area ;P

They're son needs to learn how to live it out tough, but sadly that's the reality of life- if you're rich, you get it much easier.

Here's what I got from how you wrote the story:

* Kid is rich
* Kid's parents pay £40k for a house to be built for him near the uni he wants to go to
* He doesn't get into that uni, moves to UK and goes to uni here
* Original (preferred) uni writes to him saying he can go there
* Parents THEN ask the builders to stop even though the kid can now go to the uni he wanted to with all his friends, and the house would have been pretty useful for it
* Builders stop building, house is half done with no-one living or working there and the guy is still over here

Now this doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Once he got the message saying he can go to the Czech uni, why did he not go? Even if it's a late start there's not long left of the term anyway so he might as well have gone back and started his course next year so he could be with his friends, in a new house, and studying at the place he wanted to. I know I'm a genius but it didn't take a lot of brainpower to work that out.

Because he has already started to go to Uni here.. which means then he had to leave everything and they went through a lot of trouble to get him here.

Dropping out after your 1st year is pretty much the easiest thing in the world to do, I know loads of people who did it and went elsewhere

This is exactly what I was thinking. Seems like the situation hasn't changed since I read the first one though.

Maybe your mum wouldn't have such a hard time if her children and her husband didn't worry about her nephew and if they actually contributed instead of worrying about someone else adding to her workload? I mean, it wouldn't be so tough for your mum if she didn't have four other people to run after in the first place. Maybe you all need to remember she's just a mother and not there to do everything?

And yes, I know what you mean. I have family from south africa who're the same... rich yet lean on my other aunty who's a single parent!
