Some answers to your questions about the upcoming changes.
While working our way through all your questions related to the changes that we announced on Wednesday, we have updated our FAQ section to give you some more answers.
You can find the FAQs here >>
However, some questions seem more pressing than others, and so we want to highlight them right here:
RARES
We see three different outcomes for Rare values after the relaunch of the new site:
1) Some items will become rarer than they are now (when comparing the originating Hotels to the new, big Hotel), so the value of these items should go up when there are more Habbos in the market. We'll post a list of Rares we think will raise in value closer to the relaunch.
2) The value of the most common items shouldn't change significantly, as there are so many of them in circulation already.
3) Some items will become more common than they are now (when comparing the originating Hotels to the new, big Hotel), which means that their value will go down. To help fix this, we're creating a new set of Rares (including a couple of new supers), which we'll be donating to the owners of Rares that will lose their value dramatically (they will be able to keep their existing Rare as well). In other words: if an item is super rare in one country, but not in another, the owners in the country where the item is super rare, will be getting a new Rare to compensate their loss.
We'll be posting pictures of the new items as well as details on what Rares get compensated as soon as we can. So if you have a Rare and think its value will drop, don't trade it yet, you might be compensated!
TIME ZONES
Some of you have been worried that the hotel will be full up all the time and you won't be able to get on. No need to worry! The new Hotel will be open to Habbos living in several timezones, so your enjoyment won't likely be affected, as every single Habbo will never be online at once (even Habbos have to sleep!) However, we will be increasing the server capacity for the new Hotel, just in case!
NAME CHANGES
The amount of Habbos that will need to change their names, is actually surprisingly small. However, when two names crash, the more active of the Habbos will get to keep the name (we count overall hours spent in the Hotel). The Habbos that have to change their names, will all be told to do so at the same time, prior to the relaunch. If you have to change your name, you can choose your new name freely, and the new name will be automatically updated to your friend's Friend Lists. Changing your name will also give you a name change badge!
More detailed name change information will come April 12th.
Be sure to take a look at our updated FAQs, there's loads of info in there!
