the iPad has been released in the us, and will be releasing in the uk (£499 i think)
the sales have been sky high with over millions and millions of downloads from the first day of release
But the bad part about the iPad apps is that they are worth like £5.99-£16.99.
Anyone have one?
Do you like it?
Moved by danzooo (Forum Moderator) from "Technology Discussion": Bit of a grey area where iPad threads should go, but they're slightly more fitting in "Portable Devices".

According to a friend of mine who went out and used one, they're not very good, apparently they just feel horrible.
If I were going to purchase a tablet it'd be a Gemini, they seem pretty rad to me.

Tbh like alex said ill stick to my iphone XD, Any ways after posting this i did more research but apparently all sorts of technical stuff happened to do with the itunes program connection and charging. So Apple is trying to fix these stuff and trying to make a new update.
but imagine those thousands of people who bought one, they must of been really p**sed

Surprise surprise, another Apple product that can't play fair with non-Apple "approved" products. A bad move, Apple, but you're no stranger to it ;) It'll be the death of them.

Don't underestimate the amount of idiots with more money than sense, there are a lot of them.

As it's been said before, it's an oversized iPod Touch.
You can't install a regular OS and are forced to use the iTunes store for Apps.
Also the Safari web browser doesn't support flash (and isn't looking likely to).

1. Wrong forum
What forum do you suggest? It's far too big for the Portable Devices forum :P

You people say it's an oversized iPod but it's a portable device. I guess there's just no winning with you:P
I'm sort of annoyed at it being in every single Engadget article lately.

I'd much rather a ModBook (Third party modded MacBook - http://www.axiotron.com/index.php?id=home)
At least then you aren't so heavily restricted to what you can do.

Agreed, it would just look ridiculous to hold and walk round with etc.

I'd much rather a Nexus One.
So I might buy one! I have no idea how much money it costs to ship something from USA to Canada though, with duty.

we're jailbroken guys :O
I was considering getting an iPad as I'm going to the army and going to need something to keep in contact with my family (minus my iPod Touch) but I think I'm still going to get an Acer Aspire laptop =)

I just bought a nexus one which put me out $700 or more (depending on VAT). I hope buying this over the iPad was smart :)
edit: Hey you can all buy iPads now, it's running that full operating system you wanted (http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/12/windows-95-on-ipad-completes-bill-gates-vision-video/)!

At least it can multi-task.

Agreed with last bit. Everything is all about the damned thing.

According to engadget (lol - proof it is all over the site) - the iPad costs $260 to make.
